I had a plan with Unicel for $44 a month. 400 minutes anytime minutes and free nights and weekends that I thought would began at six. That's what the advertisement on the the glass window said about their new nationwide plans. It certainly did not say pay $5 extra and nights and weekends will start at 6:00 p.m. but after a big fight about a large bill I found out the brochure inside the store did. Turns out the nationwide plans aren't nationwide afterall. This was one question that I had time to get an understanding of before I left the store. It was free across only nine states the representative explained. I attempted to get the cheapest plan. I had been on two plans before. My first plan varied up to as much as over $300 twice and they switched me to another plan. I never questioned it even though I knew I was in my calling area at times and the phone would say Extended area. I took a picture of my phone at a fast food restaurant in my calling area when it happened again. But low and behold during November or December of 2005 I received a $680 bill from Unicel. And the month after $400 and some odd dollars. I believe Unicel targets individuals who value their credit. Since then I have made arrangements to pay both. I was suppose receive a detailed bills since I got the new GSM phone on the last plan. I had to request it for $680 bill I guess that they thought I was just going to agree with it. I spoke with representatives trying to tell them that I could not have stayed on the phone an hour during work and that I had never stayed on the phone that long with certain individuals that the bill showed. They said well the computer does not lie. We do not type the bill; we could not have changed it. I said well couldn't your machine have calculated wrong. They said no. One represntative even explained that maybe I did not hang up the phone and the time was still calculating on it. After I got off the phone I realized that if I didn't hang up my phone, my phone still will hang up after that person ends the call. I am willing to bet if you check those individuals phone records for those same calls the time would be different. But that doesn't take the cake. What takes the cake is that I had a mountain of incoming calls with no numbers assocaited with them on my bill. They said due to the privacy act they could not show me those numbers. I asked what's private about numbers that have already seen on my phone. I could understand if the numbers were private calls, but they weren't.

I have two phones in my name though. One for my mom and one for myself. My mom's phone just all of a sudden stop working. During the time the Batesville center mailed it in for repair my new GSM phone would not pick up well in Tunica, Southaven, MS and Memphis, TN and I had problems reaching cell phones with Cingular Wireless, so filing it on my insurance and getting another GSM phone was not an option me. But they did not have any loaner phones either way. The Sentobia location did not either. I mean before my mother's phone stop working, I used her phone in our house to call my friends and coworkers when my phone gave me crazy messages - MS14. I had two service calls regarding that issue, but the I could not understand what the letters and numbers were at the end of the message. So, during the time period my mother phone was being repaired a representative at the 1(800) number gave me credit for the month it would be in the shop because I refused to pay for something I wasn't using. The representative said I can call call them each month to get a credit for the time I don't get my phone. The Batesville store said they would call me when it came in. There was two ladies working there at the time. So each month I would get a bill I called the 1(800) to get the credit I got the credit 2 or 3 months. So, on 2/3/06 I called the 1(800) to get the number to the Batesville office to see had my phone came in. They said they don't like to give out the number but she would transfer me. I told the first lady that answered that my phone had been in the repair shop for 3 months. She said 3 months!!! in shock are you are kidding me? A guy picked up the phone, and said that my phone was there a long time ago. He said he tried to contact me several times and left messages but then he changed it and said no i did not leave a message because you don't have voice mail. I said what number did you call. He said my cell phone, my work phone, and my home phone. I told him that up until 2 to 3 weeks ago my cell phone was still on; I would have answered, my home phone has a caller ID adn check it when we are out, and my job has people to take messages when I step away form my desk. He said no I am not issuing the credit because I tried to to call you. It is obvious that this guy was lying because he asked me to return the loaner phone and they did not give me a loaner phone. I said Ok i will call customer service. He said okay. I call the 1 (800) she said he was the Manager. I said he wasn't even working at the time I broght my phone in for repair. She said he is over her, so I can overturn a decision he has made. She said had to back up what he says. He put a note on my account on this very same day. But the question I have is shouldn't he have put the note on the account as soon as he could not reach me by phone or at least wrote me a letter. I had already been issued two or three credits already. Bottom line is I was going to use my cell phone and continue my mother cell phone service until her contract is up, but I am too upset to think, work, and etc.
