they sent letter saying if i paid 37 dollars i wd receive a credit card. i am 73 yrs old on social security and this money came out of my grocery money. i wanted to borrow $500 to take a trip with my daughters.

First of all, I have seen those solicitations for that "credit card".
If you would have taken just a few minutes to actually READ the offer, you would have seen that it is NOT a "major" credit card such as Mastercard or Visa, but is actually nothing more than a "catalog shopping" card.
Furthermore, if you couldn't afford the $37 fee, how were you planning on making even a minimum monthly payment to pay back the $500 you were going to borrow??
This simply doesn't make sense.
