I am one of the many that has been scammed by United American Insurance Company and after conducting research I think that there are enough stories and situations out there regarding the dishonest business practices of this company to take legal action against this company. They have done this not only to policy holders but agents and I would like your help. If you are interested in seeing that justice be served please correspond to this with your story. You can be completely anonomous if you would like. I am tired of this company taking advantage of people and I want to do something about it.

I'm in, just tell me how

AUTHOR: nevinsagent - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010

I was an agent with United American for almost 9 years. In the beginning, it was a very good company to work for and was very good at Medicare and other insurance for seniors. Costly, but good. Then they came out with The Flexguard and thats when it all went downhill. We were taught how to sell the policy so people knew what they were buying. The only problem, the company was lying to us agents as well and I began to get several complaints from my clients that the policies were not paying any of the claims, not even for benefits that seemed to be clearly stated within the policy. I eventually left because I could no longer have a clear conscience selling what the company was directing me to. When I left, many of my senior clients found out I had left and called me. They said they could no longer be with United American because of cost and I was no longer there. They decided that they wanted to go with me. After some clients came with me, I began to recieve threatening letters stating they would sue me if any of my clients left with me, they even began calling my clients and defaming me. When I left, I only took the clients that I had gotten with my own marketing, I left every client I got with leads given to me by the company. I walked away from almost $75,000 in residual income and 9 years invested. I made the company millions of dollars in premiums and they have attempted to keep me from making a living with my new company. I now know, doesnt matter how they treat agents, or if they pay a claim or not, or even their management. The only thing that matters to them is the bottom line. I have learned through talking with many independant agents in my area that United American has the worst reputation of any company I have ever heard of. They should be banned from deceptive techniques both to agents and consumers.

United American Insurance Co. and PPO discounts

AUTHOR: cocacola - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, March 22, 2010

I am also one with problems on how UA handles claims. I have had a problem getting them to give the provider discounts.  I bought insurance in June 2006, I was hospitaliz ed in Dec 2006, again in March 2008. I did not get the provider discounts.

Finally in Mar.2009, I got the discount from 2006, but not 2008. They have told me they were not contracted with the ppo co. since 2004. But I got a discount from 2006.           I contacted the ppo co. and they told me they were contracted fron sept.1999 to nov. 2009. I have been batteling this for 2 years now and I am tired of being stressed out about it. Something should be done about these unfair practices.                                 North Carolina
