I'm a former employee of urband development solutions, and i am soooo tired of people slandering the ceo and company..... whatever your sister got out of it is what she put into it.... and whatever she is being exposed to is what she wants to do.... just as in college. and in life!!!! they're are all kinds of people everywhere, drugs, sex, etc. it's up the individual to particapate in those things... please take responsibility for you your own actions and stop blaming others!!please.... and as far as being held against her will, thats a lie... not paying for her ticket home????? that's a lie.. they paid for mines, food, clothes, room and board, and much more,,,, curtiousity of the CEO!!!!! if she didn't come home it's caues she didn't want to, please believe!!! cause if you're not even making your quote to carry yourself,,, the company is paying for everything!!! and it's no way he's gonna let you starve... please... he's a godly man, and i experienced that first hand.... he attends church, and even takes employee out for dinner afterwards.. so please,, stop with all the lies!!!!!!!! please....for more info or anyhing feel free to contact me  at ldavis148@gmail.com

Sorry to say. But Urban Development is not about sex, drugs, or illegal doing. They travel from state to state staying in hotels and going door to door selling magazines.

Firstly, each agent is required to write their own speech for the customers they are to sell to. If your sister said she had kids, it's because she wanted to, and thought of it herself.

Secondly, the man running that business will not let anyone go hungry or walk the corners if he knew about it, if worst came to worst, he would either give the agents a loan for the time being or send them home because, obviously, they aren't doing their job.

Thirdly, if for any reason, regarding the business, any of the agents go to jail, the owner would bail them out. If she was in jail for some of her own doing, he would not because he does not support drugs or sex and does his best to do what's right.

Maybe you misheard your sister or something but these facts just don't add up. Have a blessed day, ma'am.

I am not sure what you feel to prove. I never mentioned my sisters name. And yes when you emailed me there was no sort of explination what so ever. the first bit of explination i got was here on rip-off report. The email i recieved was someone trying to figure out who my sister was, which is not the point. The point is, we here lots of stories about women who feel they can not leave there situations (i.e. battered womans syndrome) we find out how these women have families that they never reached out to. Why would she, when her manager is sleeping with her and getting her pregnant? The overall environment that these youths are put in doesnt not allow them to leave their past behind. They leave one vital situation and enter into another. The many complaints from customers (not listed on your "official web site") say otherwise. I still warn people of doing business with this company and for young people to stay away as well. I understand it is protocol to list names and put the blame on other people. The point still stands that these young adults are still exposed to the elements they were suppose to leave behind. I pray that your company stops expoiting young people and learns better ethics. Consumers are welcome to do a search on the company and find lots of valuable info like i did. When i read the complaints on various BBB across the country and other consumer reports, the complaints were the same. That doesnt change, even though your story does.

We received this letter from you on the 30th of August 2010 and this is our official response to your allegations. We responded to your email on the same day twice, requesting the name of your sister but we recieved no response from you. From our account, your sister's name is Jalisa. Jalisa is no longer employed by Urban Development Solutions. I was an eyewitness to 3 different attempts to relieve Jalisa of her position with our organization, but everytime that we were going to send her home, she would start to cry and become very upset because she said she had no home to come to. You said that you love your "sister" very much, if this is the case, why was she not excited to come to you as we offered on various occasions to pay for a bus ticket for her to leave? First fact. Second fact, you say Jalisa was around criminals? On several occasions, Jalisa was caught stealing cash orders as we received several letters from our customers alerting us to her unscrupulous behavior. Third fact. Jalisa was known to be involved in the use of illegal drugs. The CEO of Urban Development Solutions has a deep level of ethics and has a deep seated belief in giving everyone a second chance, including some people who have been rehabilitated in our penal system, depending on the crime committed, as we do not employ murderers, child molesters or anyone with a violent record. We provide room and board for a two week period to offer people an opportunity to experience a better life as to the life that they know. We've stayed at the Hilton just to name a few places, and I can assure you that all of the accommodations that are provided for our organization are a  minimum of a 3 star experience. Have you actually "seen" for yourself our training manual? Had you viewed this manual yourself, you would have seen that we do not train our sales agents to misconstrue any part of our sales program. Again, Jalisa is no longer employed with Urban Development Solutions because she did not take the second chance that she was given and utilize it to her benefit. Thank you
