On more than one occasion the Bath Beach Brooklyn. NY branch of the USPS has falsified the whereabouts of a legitimately prepared shipment.

On 3 (three) separate occasions the originator was a family member, so I was able to track the package to a certain degree.

Each time the post office is called, asking for an ETA of said package. I am always told "we show no information on any packages in your name, or to your address". Like magic, seemingly, within 24-48 hours later I receive a "Notice to Redirect/ReDeliver" from the USPS.  (Please also note that this office RARELY ever answers the phone).

After completing the form, i put it on my door as suggested. And the delivery person never touches it. After 72 hours I choose to touch base with the office again.

Once I call (and actually get through), I am again told that there is no package or letter destined for me at my address. Each time, they have no idea where the slip came from.

After a full 3 weeks pass, and many phone/face to face conversations, the USPS states "if there truly is a package, then it will be returned to the sender".

The sender being my mother- I can guarantee no package was ever returned.

In addition to all this- the post office notes hours on Saturday and they are not open on Saturdays. When approached and asked why they are not open their response is "we have the right to consider Saturday a holiday at any given time. the past three Saturdays were holidays"

They then explain that is has "something to do with being Jewish".

I am now without three packages and no one will help, or give a reasonable explanation as to where they could have gone.

The reason I am finally writing a complaint? I have a fourth package that they now cannot locate. This is not from a family member so I am now concerned that this may be something important that cannot be duplicated, or legal that will leave me looking as tho I am avoiding responsibilities.

The "Sorry we missed you" slip is dated 12SEP2013. It showed up on my door on 18SEP2013. In addition, when i call the USPS 1800# i am told that the only people who can help me are those at the actual location. I am also "reassured" that the package will go back to the sender if not picked up.

When i called the Brooklyn office, as expected, they told me that they have no idea why the slip was left. They have no records of any packages in my name, nothing is pending my slip and nothing is on its way to me. They also confirm that nothing has been sent back due to my not completing the slip.

They ended this conversation with: "We will call you back, but there’s nothing here".

Clearly someone in the post office is stealing or losing my packages. It is against the law to tamper with mail- but how do you do anything about it if it is the actual Post Office themselves tampering?
