I had Conseco Mortgage which was then bought out by Vanderbilt, the worst thing that could have happened! First, their reps are very rude, including the so called 'supervisors'.

They have actually told me off, asked me personal questions that is none of thier business, told my boyfriend (who is collecting unemployment) to go mow lawns to pay the mortgage and even hung up on me!
I used to pay by check or money order, but they kept claiming that they never got them, so I'd have to put a stop payment on the check(s) and they told me to 'search' what happened to the money order......that was until they found out it was a Western Union M.O., then it MYSTERIOUSLY appeared!

So now we quick collect , which is an extra 12.95 just to avoid all the crap. They call and harrass, telling us their going to foreclose on our home, they threaten if there's not said amount by the next day they'll send someone out to take pictures of our home!

They say a mobile home mortgage is different than a mortgage on a 'regular' home. and it can and WILL be handled differently!

I called another mortgage company with questions and they told me as long as it's a mortgage, you have to be at least 60 days late no matter what kind of home it is.
PLUS, a foreclosure takes a longer time than they claim, they can't just send a man out to photograph my home and then kick us out and a forclosure can be reversed by paying your back mortgage due.

I'm so sick of the rude people, the threats, the lies.... and I can't refinance yet because as they put it'I've been late so many times that most of the money I paid over 2 years went to INTEREST not to the mortgage!
According to them, my mortgage is only paid down approximately a little over 200 dollars! In 2 and a half years!

My best advice STAY AWAY FROM VANDERBILT! And to those who already have them, I feel bad for you, and I understand.

Leah is a real idiot.

AUTHOR: D - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 11, 2004

What you folks should is ignore Leah. She started posting on this site when her friend Bethany got caught up in some stuff at Pizza Hut on Hannum St. in Alcoa.

Her friend Bethany is obviously a w***e and Leah is in denial about it. Just check out some of her comments concerning Pizza Hut.

Leah is a real idiot. She also wants us all to boycott our local Farmer's Co-op because they fired her dead-beat husband for being lazy and not coming to work. What a moron!

Leah, give it a rest. Nobody cares what you have to say anymore. Now we know where you used to work. God, you are stupid!

I do feel bad for your situation, but as I said, Karma gets ya every time!

My religion should have nothing to do with this discussion!

We live in the USA freedom of religion is OK.

Sorry Shawna!

AUTHOR: Leah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

Shawna, I accidentally typed in Scott, so I apologize. I can understand your frustration with VMF, however, you are not ignorant and beligerant(like someone who would type some Wican trash on this site). I assure you that VMF will work with your with in reason, but be advised one of VMFs policies is that they dot accept partial payments, but occassionally we could get a supervisor to give the ok on getting someone up to date over a 3 or 4 month period, it just depends on your rep and the group they work in, so try to keep the account under 30 days past due, and if your rep is that bad, ask for a supervisor or another rep to work with...good luck.

Last Response... contact David Barton, he's the head of collections

AUTHOR: Leah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

I am not going to post anymore, simply because I tried to get through to people like you(not Scott) everyday when I worked at VMF, and it's the same lies and excuses all the time. The point is that if you don't go over your head in debt and you pay the payments on time, then you wont receive callsI will admit there are people that did need help and did need extensions and that we did let get caught up over a period of time because they DESERVED it...and by the way...I quit at VMF because my mother who had been suffering from non hodgekins lymphomia for 4 years passed away,, and since myself, an under 21 year old hick from Tennessee had managed to hold down work since I was 15, finish high school, and care for my mother after chemo and also a stem cell transplant, I needed a break, and dealing with jerks everyday wasn't what I needed. And as for MG, I can assure you that if you send it VMF, it will only cost $8.50, and I think I would know better than you...if I remember right, you send it to Vanderbilt(VMF) , Maryville, TN and the 4 digit receive code is 8665...funny that all EVERYONE else's Wal Mart only charged $8.50, I guess yours is the ONLY Wal Mart that doesn't, or all the accounts we handled lied to us and just went ahead and paid the $20.00 to send it...funny that. And I will admit that there are some real jerks of account reps, so refuse to speak to anyone but your rep or ask for their voicemail. If you really want something done, then you need to contact David Barton, he's the head of collections, and I am sure he would be more of a help tp you then posting messages on this site.

#6 Consumer Comment

VMF will not work with you PERIOD!!

AUTHOR: Shawna - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

No matter what you are sitting there spouting off Leah, I have had zero cooperation with VMF. I have called before and said that we would be late with a payment and asked if we could work out an arrangement so the harrassing phone calls wouldn't start. Because I did this I was told that if my payment wasn't on time they would start foreclosure proceedings immediately. I have gotten to where I only speak to VMF if I absolutely have too.

If I can send a payment by Quick Collect or Money Gram and avoid talking to them then I do because everytime I talk to them I end up being verbally attacked.

I have also had rude questions about what kind of job I am working and how much I make an hour and have been told that maybe both my husband and I need to get 2nd jobs so we can pay our bills. My husband already works almost 70 hours a week and it would be pointless for me to get another job because then almost everything I would be making would end up going to pay child care expenses. Right now we do what works for us without racking up more bills.

VMF could care less. All my utility companies will work with me. Our Auto Loan company will work with me. Our landlord that we rent the lot off of will work with me. Our insurance company will work with me. If we don't have a full payment for any of them when it is due then they will take whatever we can afford and work with us on paying the rest. I have told VMF several times that I didn't have the full payment and have asked if I could just send in $200 or $250 that week and get the rest the next week only to be verbally attacked by the customer service representative (AKA hell hound) that mans the phones.

if Vanderbilt is such a great company, why are you a FORMER employee?!!

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

Oh how wrong you are ,Vanderbilt is THE ONLY company we have problems with, as I wrote, check out the rest of the complaints....I'm not the only one, now am I? I have asked to speak to a specific rep,(GENIUS) and they tell me anyone can handle my account, so wrong again! I checked with Wal Mart and they wanted $20.00 to wire money through Money Gram, so I might as well pay the $12.95 for Western Union.

As far as my BF's job situation, honey, you have no idea! You can't MAKE a job appear, you apply and hopefully you get hired. He worked for the same company for 5 years and got laid off, his fault, NO!(hey, maybe Vanderbilt will hire him, he can be quite rude!).

He also has other problems, he applied for disability,(yes he's a sick man, is that a joke to you too?) so again you my dear HAVE NO IDEA what goes on in our home, and making judgements about people you don't know, well, that's WRONG! (When you ASSUME, LEAH, you make an A** out of you and me)Vanderbilt taught you well! Our home is our first priority, however sometimes life hands you things called PROBLEMS....but the way you act you have none, well HEE HAW for you. And I'm so sure you're NEVER late on a bill (if you say so). As far as dealing with ignorance, I'm not ignorant honey, I'm a well educated college woman, so again, DON'T ASSUME!

BTW, if Vanderbilt is such a great company, why are you a FORMER employee?!! One last thing, as a Wiccan, karma is a very important thing to a witch, 3 times at someone, 3 times back, so you my dear might want to be a little more accepting of others problems, because they just may come back to haunt YOU!

Ignorance all around the board

AUTHOR: Leah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 03, 2004

I highy doubt that you are having problems with VMF only. And yes, genius, every account has their own rep,I would know because I worked there-DUH!!! All you have to do is ask to speak to them...now its not like we just sit around all day and did nothing, when you call in, the call goes first to your rep, and if they are on the phone or away from their desk, it bounces to someone elsa...all you have to do is ask to speak to your rep when you call in and they will let you.

Next, VMF has a deal with money gram and it is a flat rate of $8.50, and I think I would know better than you wouldnt I? I had many accounts that paid that amount for money gram every month, so you do your homework. Oh, and your boyfriend applying for a job and having one are two different things.

Also your home needs to be your first priorty, not your car or internet or whatever bills you are paying instead of the mortgage payment because, like I said, if you paid the payment on time NO ONE WOULD CALL YOU-DUH!!!!

Oh and I may be a hick, but I pay my bills on time! I delt with ignorance like this everyday, but what it comes down to is pay on time and no one will call-DUH!!!

Vanderbilt Mortgage/ Now I have a response!

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 02, 2004

K, first of all your CHARMING rebuttal only proves my point about the ignorance of the employees! Second, my boyfriend has applied for jobs DUH!, do you think we just sit here all day and twittle our thumbs hoping the MONEY FAIRY drops a load of cash on us???!!!! As far as having my OWN rep, BULL, I get a new rep. almost everytime I contact the company. I have a car loan and even they work with us....why...because maybe they're a decent company that understands people have financial trouble!

And last, DO YOU KNOW US???? NO! So how dare you IMPLY and ASSUME that we do not budget our money. We have no other problems with any other company but this one. And if you read the other reports, you'll see we are NOT the only people getting the SHAFT from Vanderbilt!
Oh, and FYI, "Wally World' as hicks will call it, charges by the amount you wire, not a flat fee of $8.50....check into it!

That being said, feel free to comment....and HAVE A JOYOUS DAY!

Give me a break

AUTHOR: Leah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 02, 2004

I used to collect for Clayton/Vanderbilt. First, we CAN and DID repo homes after 30 days past due.Second, maybe your boyfriend should get a job instead of collecting unemployment and help you out.Third, we did not start collecting aggressively until the home is 30 days past due and we ALWAYS saw the same accounts fall behind each month.Fourth, if you paid the payments on time there wouldn't be a problem. And lastley, if you are receving these calls every month, you are behind every month and probably not working with the collector very well.I suggest instead of not returning calls and paying late that you call Vanderbilt, talk to your rep(because you have your own rep) and work out some arragements in advance and budget your $$$, because I am sure that you dont, and work with the rep instead of complaining..if you call them 1st to work out arragements, they wont call you

PS-You can MG the payment it gets there the sme as a C and its only $8.50 at Wally World.
