I started looking at my bill in December when a friend asked me why my bill was so high.  I've had service with Verizon since Jan. 2009 and never looked at my bills.  I called Verizon for 4 months and everybody was going to take care of my overcharge of texting.  I do NOT text!

So, this April bill I was overcharged once again to the tune of $36.00 plus tax!  Yes, here we go again.  I am tired of calling these idiots and have changed my phone service.  I refuse to pay any last bill.  They can charge their other suckers who use their service!

I feel an apology is in store as well as waiving any and all charges for my 2 year contract.

You never looked at your bill?

AUTHOR: Stacey - (U.S.A.)

Are your serious?? I look at my Sprint bill every month as well as all other bills! Do you just pay all your bills without looking at them? This one is on YOU - no rip off - You failed to look at your bills therefore you are responsible for the charges

FYI you don't pay the bill you incur disconnect fees and therefore will not be able to get another cell phone period

What make and MODEL cellphone do you have?

My wife and I have a family plan with Verizon; no data charges (although our phones are capable) because we do not wish to use that function-I had data function disabled by Verizon.

Also, we have unlimited texting for a $5 extra charge-itemized on our monthly bill.

Any issue I've ever had with Verizon I was able to resolve by calling 611 from my cellphone.  If this won't work for you then I suggest that you write a letter to Verizon and demand an itemized breakdown of the service(s) you are paying for.

I'm really at a loss to explain a $36 texting charge!

What type of plan did you get? i bet you dont know.

you must have a high end phone.. black berry eh?

you better read your contract, and obviously you dont read your bill. if you noticed it on the first month, you could have easily requested a refund.

Did you have a contract with them? If you did they are going to charge an early cancellation fee. I know from as this happened to me, I did not pay it and it went into collection and I finally just settled with them after they knocked off 75%.

Good Luck

Suggestion..

Okay according to your original posting you stated $36 just for texting, and now you have an additional $9.99 for "data".  That now even makes less sense, which I am sure is one of your complaints.  Because as far as I am aware the data charge should include texting already.

I would suggest that instead of calling Verizon go into a Verizon store(not an authorized reseller).  At the very least they can go over your bill and perhaps even be able to fix it, if there is a problem.

That you are being charged for Texting?  As $36 a month seems very high, even if you had some unlimited plan.  So those fees may be for something else.

One possibilty may depend on your phone.  Most carriers, and I don't know if Verizon has gone to this, have gone to REQUIRING a Data Plan for any "Smart Phone".  These would include phones such as a BlackBerry or Droid.  If this is the case then the $36 is actually pretty close to that price, as a data plan usually runs in the $30-$40 range.
