Todd Von Stein has a new retail business called Vintage Mid Mod & Vino which peddles mid century looking junk and offers wine tasting on Friday evenings.  Todd has stole hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of the past 2 decades. Todd (of Vintage Mid Mod & Vino) excels at preying on women, controlling them and burning through all of their hard earned savings for his own benefit. 

Todd Von Stein is really not that bright and has had ZERO success in running any business, but he's good at what he does:  Conning women into fronting a business which he runs into bankruptcy, self-promotion and of course, evolving and learning and doing just enough to NOT get arrested.  If you tell him you're a Christian, suddenly Todd Von Stein has dabbled in Christian couple's therapy and went to seminary school.  These are lies.  He has done neither.  If you're newly divorced, single, low on self-esteem, Todd Von Stein is probably sizing up his potential control over you and how far he can financially take you.  Todd dates multiple women at a time, there is always someone on the horizon in case another falls through.  Preying on women is Todd Von Stein's TRUE livelihood!!

One time Todd Von Stein said he likes to "hire women because they are more detailed than men."  Todd then likes to break women down verbally, yell, blame them, then build them back up.  He's more successful with some than others.  It's all about control & manipulation.

There have been over 50 lawsuits against Todd Von Stein per Iowa Courts Online.  He gets sued by sub-contractors, employees AND clients!  One lawsuit entails an older couple with a home value of maybe $100k.  Todd Von Stein convinced them to spend $300k on a complete remodel, stopped paying sub-contractors so the subs stopped doing the work, so they sued.

There are countless others that Todd Von Stein has stolen from, yet many don't file lawsuits for fear of embarrassment, going through the court system or for whatever reason. 

Todd Von Stein doesn't cook but rather loves to dine out daily at moderately to expensively priced restaurants (Alba, The Continental, Let's assume Todd eats alone, spending $10 per meal only twice a day, everyday for one month, he would spend $560 on food.  But in reality, Todd Von Stein of Vintage Mid Mod & Vino is very generous and prefers to dine with others, treat them and spend considerable more than $10 per plate ($15-$30) not including tip.  Todd's "business partner" (usually unknowingly) spends a few thousand dollars per month for Todd Von Stein to eat & drink, and Todd LOVES to drink!

Todd used his charms on a woman he met, told her his sob story of being screwed over on another business deal, then convinced her to put up her savings and open up Design Street in Des Moines' East Village.  There was very little information online back then about Todd Von Stein's past.  She was the true business owner, Todd was only the manager (but presented himself as part-owner).  Todd Von Stein spent too much money on food & drink and dating women all over Iowa, didn't pay sub-contractors or employees, performed illegal check kiting, forged his "partner's" signature and obtained a building lease and spent her money without her knowledge.  Eventually she saw the light and fired Todd, but not before owing thousands of dollars that he racked up in expenses.  The business went bankrupt and SHE was forced to declare personal bankruptcy as well. 

Todd learned, then adapted his craft on his next victim...

Todd met Pam George, told her a sob story of being cleaned out in the night by 2 different business partners at this point and then used his charms to get Pam to pony up her savings and open up Design Shoppe dba Designsmith.  Same location in the trendy East Village, same business doing renovations, new home additions and historical preservation.  Todd Von Stein lived lavishly, dined & drank, dated tons of women, got sued by numerous contractors, employees, and clients.  Design Shoppe/Designsmith lasted about 2 years before Pam George was forced to declare bankruptcy, both professional AND personal.

Todd persuaded an employee to cash in an IRA and take money against her credit card to pay off company debts.  He robs Peter to pay Paul. 

Notice a trend here?  Todd Von Stein is always a "victim", he gets women to give all their life savings for him to mismanage and then run them into professional AND personal bankruptcy.  Todd learns...watches...then adapts his skills.

Todd Von Stein then started Preservation Resource Group or PRG, LLC doing 'consulting work' only since his reputation with subcontractors got so bad.  He submitted an employee's building designs as his own in a national AIBD competition.  These designs were done BEFORE ever meeting Todd Von Stein!  AIBD has since revoked his membership.  Todd was also kicked off the East Village board and Sherman Hill. 

Todd Von Stein has a Facebook page (Thanks for the photo, although his face is now even more disproportionately larger than his body) under 'PRG Todd'  I guess he dropped the 'Von Stein'. 

Todd Von Stein has photos of the historic East Village gas station being moved...he had nothing to do with it other than his former business Designsmith pledging $5000 of future design work for free.  Designsmith was never awarded a contract for it, but it sounds good! 

Also there is an album with the Kingsway Cathedral photos and Todd thanks both Sherman Hill and KLM Ministries for saving it.  KLM wanted nothing to do with Todd Von Stein due to his reputation and hired a real professional!

Todd Von Stein now has a new retail business called Vintage Mid Mod & Vino.  He has a new "business partner" who is a woman.  Previously I mentioned the name of Pam George who was victimized by Todd Von Stein and forced into bankruptcy.  I'm mentioning her name because she still supports Todd and stands by him knowing what he did to her and the owner of Design Street.  Pam George is guilty by association!!!  She knows the truth about Todd: the hundreds of thousands of dollars he has stolen from clients, employees, family and friends...how he is physically abusive...how he berates and yells at women, blames them and breaks them down then acts as a "caring Christian" and builds them back up for his needs.

Pam George knows what Todd Von Stein is capable of.  Pam George knows the woman that Todd Von Stein has fronting Vintage Mid Mod & Vino for him.  Shame on you Pam!!  You are part of the problem and you continue to support the abusive, lying manipulative con man named Todd Von Stein while he is potentially going to run THIS woman into bankruptcy as he did to you and others!
