VMC Satellite ripoff Great Falls Virginia

This is a follow up to my earlier report. I filed a complaint with the Oregon attorney general against VMC. They handled this for me and in the early part of August I received a letter saying since VMC wasn't a threat to most Oregonians they weren't going to go after them legally. They did though get VMC to make an offer which was if we paid them $200 before then end of August they would close the account. It pained me to do it but I sent VMC a check for $200 on August 20, 2005. I thought my nightmare was over.

My husband and I are in the middle of buying a home and a couple of weeks ago we get a phone call from our bank telling us all of a sudden a collection has shown up on our credit report and our credit score fell 140 points! We have never in our 30 years of marriage had a collection. We have worked hard to always pay our bills and have always taken pride in the fact that we had a high creidt score. VMC destroyed that in one single move!

I make a call to VMC and was treated like dirt by the customer service manager. He puts me on hold and then comes back all nice and friendly saying yes they got my check on the 26th. He took my phone number and said his supervisor would call me on Monday and figure out what had happened. Of course I never heard a word from them. I called the collection agency Monday morning and VMC had already called them. THe collection agency said they would contact the three credit reporting companies but it usually takes up to 8 weeks for that to come off.

We have put money down on a home so we can't put off our loan.

Our only option is to get our loan at a higher interest rate, which is caused by VMC, and then when the collection comes off refiance. The money VMC has cost us is growing by the day. I only hope that anyone considering going with DISH finds this website and stops before they have to go through the nightmares that I have been through and the many other people that have gone through with them!
