I work for Wal-Mart and when I recently recieve my check i noticed they had deducted my overtime under a nonsense code of retro-overtime. This is a Federal offense and I am deciding what I should do now. Any suggetions let me know

The Wage and Hour Board (or local equivalent) should be able to do an investigation in the matter for you.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

First of all, contact your state's DOL...

And Steve, what are you talking about? There is still a federal overtime law.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

I suggest you read labor laws before screaming "federal offense". Not illegal.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

Although I do agree with you that this type of thing sucks, it is NOT illegal. And certainly NOT a "federal offense".

Thanks to the Bush Administration, overtime pay is not even required at all any longer under federal law.

Each state has their own rules on overtime. Here in FL, Wal-Mart where I live pays only a premium of $1/hr for overtime. As a rulle, they try to avoid having you work overtime.

A flex time program is perfectly legal.

My suggestion...Don't work at Wal-mart!
Get a union job.
