I can't prove that these two things were related, but I think they were.
After applying to WesternSky for a loan, shortly after that my bank account was seized for back taxes.
Now, you might think the seizure was a coincidence, but I'd been mostly unemployed since 2009, had no money but what was borrowed from relatives, and the tax man hadn't been bothering me. In fact, I only had $300 in the account, and it was borrowed from a relative to pay for expenses until my first payday.
So I gave WesternSky all this info in the loan application -- my bank account, my job, etc., and suddenly the state takes the account and sends me to a homeless shelter until my first paycheck. (I paid them the balance after the job got going, but making me homeless? That I won't forget.)
They turned me down for the loan -- my job was new and my credit not so great after the 2008-present economic depression. But I think part of their business model is making money by turning peoples' info over to collection agencies.

Actually these payday loan or short term lenders DO sell your information to collection agencies. But thats only AFTER a loan has not been paid. You are confusing your information in your head. The TRIGGER for all your problems was your SSN!! Remember this is a automated system. They enter your information into the system and BAM! IRS knows where you are.
IRS would have access somewhere along the line. Your name was put up for a redflag. Evidently you owed your least favorite uncle some money. All of the governmental programs are tied together in some way. If you needed a loan, they would have checked your background. If they found that the IRS was looking for you, they would have no choice but to tell the IRS where your at. They may even have been LEAGALLY obligated to give your information.
