This is the most unprofessional low life lender in america. I should have gotten my loan from a loan shark (wait a minute I did) that is what these people are. They call three days before the payment is due and have called up to 15 times in one day for a payment that is one day past due yet still in the grace period. I have never missed a payment yet they call every month.

Ask completely stupid questions like what color is the car now...like I just went out and painted it purple so they could not find it.....I have less than $300 owing on the loan and today was the day I went off on them they called 10 times I talked to three different people all dumber than dirt. Of course i got no where with the idiots. NEVER I REPEAT NEVER do business with this place no matter how badly you need a loan yo will regret it as long as you have the loan.

Then they have the nerve to send me a letter saying please use us to finance your next car, I would rather shot myself in the head and live, or maybe go take a shower at Penn St.

You seem to have a problem understanding the definition of the word late. A payment is late when it is received after the due date.

"Im willing to bet that you don't pay every single bill you have on time. You will probably lie on that anyways."

It's not too subtle of you to cover your bet by saying I'd lie about it.

In ALL my rather long life (I'm now retired) I have NEVER been late on ANY payment and I really don't care if YOU believe it or not.

The DEADBEAT OP needs to stop blaming others for his failings.

This action has NOTHING to do with banks getting bailouts, lenders being unforgiving, or the general economy being bad....it's about PERSONAL responsibility.

If you don't obligate yourself to more than you have, this won't happen.

Oh, thanks for inferring I'm a liar...JERK.

Ugh! Read your CONTRACT Completely!

AUTHOR: Luckynutz13 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 06, 2012

There is no such thing as a grace period when dealing with car loans! Did you read your Contract? Because if you did it states you have no grace period. What you have a "grace period" for late fees or charges! Not to mention if you don't want them calling set up automatic draft!

I used to work for collection agencies ions ago and worked at Toyota Motor Finance. So I know what I speak of!

" I have never missed a payment they were all made within the grace period that the company gave me in writing. So listen smarty pants maybe you work for this horrible if so they deserve you and you deserve them, cause you are both stupid "

If you are paying in your grace period, the payment is late. All a grace period is, is a time frame they do not charge a late fee. the payment is already late. If your payment is not there by the DUE DATE its late. No, I don't work for this company. Of course your would think that.

As for abysawhatever, banks lose money all the time. What do you think the 2008 crisis was over? Did you miss all the banks declaring bankruptcy from toxic loans? I guess you were living under a rock then.

They don't lose money with their hight interest rates. Most customers don't have problems with paying their cars right away. Its usually a year or so in the car payments. They don't take loses. Banks never ever ever ever take loses. Someone always picks up the bill and it gets paid.

"They don't lose money because someone doesn't pay on time because regardless of how a customers pays. They still get the car back thru repo."

Finance companies usually take a loss by the time they resort to auto repossession. The vehicles have lost a great deal of value and are frequently abandoned by the buyer due to the need of expensive repairs. Finance companies do not want to repossess a vehicle but sometimes they find it necessary to exercise damage control.

And...?

AUTHOR: Jim S - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Telling people you made all of your payments...?  Isn't that what you're supposed to do?  The correct answer is...no, not really.  What you're supposed to do is make all your payments on time.  Not a week after the due date.  Not just before the grace period.  The grace period is the period before you get trashed to all three credit reporting agencies by the collector.  The bottom line is...making payments one day after the due date, is still late, and will earn all of the calls you deserve.  I know you understand this - you're just trying to rationalize your behavior.  If that rationalization drives your outrage....I guess that's up to you.  However, no one here buys it.  I don't.

They may in fact be a low life lender; you don't list the terms of the loan...and it really doesn't matter anyway.  The point is if they are a low-life lender, it also means they have low-life customers, many of whom don't make payments on time as they agreed to.  Avoiding calls from people with double-digit IQ's is pretty simple; make your payments on time, every time.  Once you have that payment history, those calls prior to the due date generally cease.  If you really have less than $300 left, borrow the money from a friend and pay off the loan balance.  Give you friend some interest; that's a win-win for everyone involved.  Oh, and don't criticize those who commented.  Remember, you (1) took the loan to begin with, (2) decided to be late with your payments, (3) didn't like the consequences of being late, (4) made your beef public, and (5) rationalized your behavior.

No RipOff

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 20, 2011

There is a difference between the Due Date and your Grace Period.

If you are paying in the Grace Period you are late because it is past the due date.  The only thing the Grace Period is for is before they assess any additional late payment fees.  It doesn't change the fact that you are late.

Now because you are a Sub-Prime borrower they are going to "remind" you.  It doesn't matter what you did in the past they are only concerned with the now.  It doesn't matter if you paid 59 of 60 payments on time, they are still going to hound you for the 60th payment.

No, they will lose money because THEY WILL LOSE CUSTOMERS. They don't lose money because someone doesn't pay on time because regardless of how a customers pays. They still get the car back thru repo. They still have collateral. Westlake Financial has terrible customer service and because of that they will lose customers. No customers, no money.

Losing money?

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 20, 2011

They lose money because its extremely risky loaning money to people with bad credit. That's why they are sub-prime lenders. People with bad credit didn't get bad credit by paying their bills on time. Companies like this will treat people better, when their customers pay on time.

No, because there plenty of good businesses out there who are willing to work with you.

Prime lenders who treat people like a "class" should disappear. Westlake will be one of those companies if it doesn't change its policies. Thats why they act like they do because they are losing money.

You want them to go away?

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 20, 2011

I'm guessing the previous poster doesn't like "unethical sub-prime lenders" you realize that if you run them all out of business then people with poor credit will not be able to get ANY loan of ANY kind because of their credit. These companies are at least willing to extend credit to these people.

How is it anybodies fault that the economy has gone to shits? Maybe its the government fault for allowing sub prime lenders to run unethical business. I wouldn't be surprise if Westlake goes out of business withing 5 years. As their reports of unethical business gets bigger and bigger, their business will diminish. Im willing to bet that you don't pay every single bill you have on time. You will probably lie on that anyways.

Anyways, everyone needs to spread the word about this company. Tell everyone you know about this company. Thats how we can make sure this company goes down.
If every person on this website tells a friend about the truth about Westlake. I guaranteed that this company will get less and less customers. There are too many good companies out there that understand people situation and are looking for a good relationship with their customers.

Obviously your credit rating is in the toilet or

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

you wouldn't have to borrow from sub-prime lenders.
S-u-r-e they trust you..not.
They've heard, on a daily basis, from you and their other customers, all the stories about when you sent the payment.  They just don't believe them anymore...deadbeat.

Get over yourself and see if you can't improve your credit situation and not have to continue to deal with this type of lender...it's NOT their fault, it's YOURS.

BTW, ONE DAY late IS late and they can repossess even on that.  I'd say you've been lucky...so far.
