1. Ordered silver bullion on Dec 26, 2012 - not a single update since then.
2. Called several times -- left voicemails, emails. They either don't pick up or pick up and lie that the order will ship the next day because they are backed up over the holidays.
Reputable companies at least include their contact info in the email receipt -- there is nothing from them. They use coin-rare as their website domain, but operate under Westminster Mint Co.

Sequence of events:
E-mailed Jan 2, to follow up on my order -- no reply, called 888 number Jan 2 -- was told that the order will ship out tomorrow, and if not to call again, called again the 888 number on Jan 3 because nothing shipped and no tracking info was sent -- no one picked up because it was after hours so I left a message, to which no one ever responded. So I proceeded to call on Jan 5, with another useless promise that they were backed up and it will definitely ship out by Jan 7 or 8. Comes Jan 7 and no updates in my email later, I called the 888 number, where no one picks up in the middle of the day,  then I called 800 Minnesota number, where a man picked up and directed me to some person that finally picked up and lied that my order would be shipped tomorrow or I don't even remember when at this point. No updates, no tracking still, I wrote an e-mail on Jan 9 letting them know I will dispute my charges, to which of course no one replied.  As the last measure I called the 800 number of the head office in MN directly, since experience showed the 888 number is being answered at liberty. The excuse of socially accepted human being that answered the phone was the rudest creature I've ever dealt with in my life. It seems as though he's in the work-for-felons program because the way he proceeded to yell, interrupt and not listen to me - THE PAYING CUSTOMER - was beyond me. I asked to speak to the president Ian, who finds enough time to post on all the forums bashing on his company's fraudulent deeds, but somehow doesn't have enough time to actually take care of his business. The rude ex-con (I assume he's an ex-con because he really did behave like a criminal) told me he's not in and that I can leave a message. I told him no one ever answers my messages and explained my issue to him. He continued to yell and interrupt when I told him I will be cancelling my payment through the card company unless they deliver the bullion tomorrow. All he did was shove in my face the 888 number that operates as it wills and completely disregarded me not even as a customer, but as a person.

When I called the 888 number, Jamie said they will process my refund by the end of the week. So I will update by Friday how that went through. I would advise not to believe those posts by Ian - the - president, because all he has to offer is excuses. I would have NEVER ordered, had I known how much headache and nerves this company causes. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Just a tip, Ian, if that freak that works for you didn't treat me so rudely, perhaps I would have waited a few days longer for my order, but no way would I ever give you my money for you to treat me like scum of the earth. I invite all of you to stop purchasing from this joke of a company.

Westminster Mint is an A+ Company

AUTHOR: disciple15 - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, August 15, 2015

I have ordered literally hundreds of ounces of silver from Westminster Mint. I have gotten excellent service each time I have ordered my silver. I have been ordering since 2012. I send a check, so it usually takes about 3 weeks to receive my silver order. They have always been forthright in terms of letting the consumer know when to expect shipment of their order. After the shipment is placed, it only takes 3 days to receive your order, no matter what state you live in. Today's date is 8-15-15 and as I type this response, I will be receiving a shipment of 63 ounces of silver in today. I placed the order on 7-27-15. I am very satisfied with Westmister Mint, and as long as their prices are competitive, I will continue to order from them. I hope this has helped anyone make up their mind. You can thank me when you receive your order. P.S. you can track your via your login account, so you can see when they received, processed, and send your order.

More Investigating

AUTHOR: Scott C - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 02, 2014

I did a little investigating as a third party.  Do I believe there may have been an issue with shipping, yes.  Does  this happen to all companies, yes.  What I also find to be true is that it appears in my 3rd party opinion that the owner told the truth at every turn.  His reasons for the delayed shipping makes absolute sense.  Further more if you look up the BBB complaint, it was not filed until Jan 14th.  This is 3 days after the customer acknowledged the credit back on his credit card.  Therefore, the owner was telling the truth that he had already refunded the monies prior to be contacted by the BBB.  The BBB had nothing to do with this customer getting his money back, this company refunded it on their own at the customers request.  What I see is a minor problem that was exasberated by someone who was extremely frustrated with little to no patience.  After reading this report, I personally find that there is nothing stated that would stop me from ordering from here.  As I plan to do here shortly.

Also why did this person assume the other person on the line was a felon or a criminal?  I am sure from everything I read here that this person is hot headed, does this make him a felon?  Plus if this company does hire felons then good for them.  Sometimes people make mistakes and they need a chance to turn their lives around after serving their punishment.

New Customer of Westminster Mint.

AUTHOR: Ryan Wollam - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, December 17, 2013

I see a lot of whiny customers in my daily routine as a small business owner,  I just read this exchange of negative comments against Westminster Mint this morning.  My feelings are as a nation everyone wants their purchases fast like McDonald's, not every company can provide products at lightening speed, we as business owners try to serve our customers with reasonable speed in service. I made a purchase from Westminster Mint a few days ago and just purchased another order this morning, I received confirmation of my first order last night, and the purchase is being prepared for shipping. In my veiw my purchase has been timely and efficiently processed. People need to revisit the land of patience, explore it and embrace it. I'm sure Westminster Mint will come through and I'll be a satisfied customer. Enjoy life and it's good lessons, silver & gold are just material things, life is the one true gift.

Customer service

AUTHOR: Randy - ()

POSTED: Thursday, June 27, 2013

I just want to say I have done business with Westminster numerous times and have always been treated great on phone calls and emails. Prompt would be the word. Never a problem receiving items ordered in time frame they say right on order page, except for one time, when it was late, they were professional and polite and I always was satisfied.

Every single company will have a problem now and then, but Westminster as always treated me fairly...they aren't some fly-by-night operation. I would give them my business anytime.

Amen--Brother

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 12, 2013

This owner will probably claim you are either the boogeyman, Susquatch, or somebody who just likes to take their time to write false things about his company. Like we all don't have better things to do--but find this forum worthwhile in an effort to deter others from also getting scammed!

Not once has the owner admitted error and/or fault, nor appears to have tried to make amends with the customer. With all these complaints, and with him monitoring this 24/7, he obviously has no time to take care of the necessary elements in running a legitimate company.

STOP MAKING EXCUSES

AUTHOR: DontGetRippedOff - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 12, 2013

Stop making excuses for what who is! Clearly your company is so out of line that you feel the need to constantly monitor the scam websites to "restore" your reputation. I highly doubt it's the same person. And even if it's true that his application was rejected it's probably because he had at least an ounce of integrity, which AUTOMATICALLY conflicted with everything your company stands for. You must have a very selective process of hiring only criminals and immoral rejects. Do yourself a favor and open up a company under a new name so that you can scam some more people under the new title before they realize exactly what kind of horrible person you are. Because, trust me, attempting to restore the good name of Westminster is never going to work! There are pages and pages of complaints against you!

Several of these comments are posted by the same person who claims to be both a customer and a former employee of Westminster Mint.

AUTHOR: Westminster Mint - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 12, 2013

The person posting comments about Westminster Mint claims to be both a client and a former employee of Westminster Mint. This person is responsible for multiple postings made in this forum against our company. The truth is he applied for a job in sales and his application was not accepted.

We wish him well in his future job search.

The Customer Is Obviously Right On This and the Owner Is Obviously Lying Again

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 11, 2013

There is a saying  "where there is smoke there is fire." The owner has an answer for every complaint on here--which there are boatloads!!! In every case the owner has NEVER admitted culpability!!! How does it feel to be prefect Ian? I personally have dealt with your company and I have never dealt with more rude individuals who wouldn't know the truth if it hit them in the face! I'm sure there will be some smug rebuttal by yourself in about 1 minute since you seem to live on this site. However with the constant complaints against you here I can see why you are looking at this 24/7!

We sincerely regret the consumer had a bad experience but feel there was little else we could have done in this instance to alter the outcome

AUTHOR: Westminster Mint - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 25, 2013

We are concerned anytime a transaction with our company goes wrong and the customer is not 100% satisfied with our products or service. In the rare instances that this happens we do are up most to give satisfaction in a timely manner. This order was placed online on December 26th, an order confirmation and order number was sent to the customer immediately. The terms of the order were that we would deliver within 15 days.

For whatever reason the customer tried to contact us about this order while our offices were closed for the holidays. The product she ordered for $124 is a stock item and would have shipped soon after our offices reopened on January 3. Our customer service reps could only estimate that the order would ship in the next few days and within the agreed to 15 days because of a backlog of orders built up during the holidays when our shipping department was closed.

The customer then informed us that she had put the order in dispute with her credit card company. If she had canceled the order the credit would have been issued the same day. Because she put it in dispute and for us to avoid the card company and ourselves issuing a "duplicate" refund, 48 hours additional processing is required.

The customer was informed the credit would be issued on January 11th. The credit was issued as promised on January 11 this was PRIOR to us receiving any communication from the Better Business Bureau. When we received notification from the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter we responded that we had already issued the credit.

All of our representatives act in a courteous and professional manner. All employees are subject to rigorous background checks prior to being hired. Westminster Mint advertises it products and services weekly in national publications that are seen by millions of people. We count our active customers by the tens of thousands and have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.  Thankfully complaints like this are in a small minority. We sincerely regret that the customer had a bad experience with our company but feel there was little else we could have done in this instance to alter the outcome.
