So I'm looking online for a good drop ship company to supplement my current eBay business and find Wholesale Marketer. Their advertisement looks enticing and convincing enough for me to fill out the information to get my free trial. It isn't long before I get a call from Wholesale Marketer "welcoming me" as a new drop shipper with them, when really I am getting a call from a slick sales rep with his own personal agenda (get me to pay as much money as possible up front so he can make his commission).

Well, needless to say, the sales person was convincing enough about the quality of their service and the money I would save (and I haven't had a chance to really look at what their drop ship service is like in detail yet) to get me to agree to pay for a year in advance.

Since then, I have spent countless hours looking for ANY product with wholesale pricing that I can drop ship and make some money. Wholesale Marketer's service is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I don't know how they can feel good about calling their service a wholesale drop ship service. Not only are the products not Wholesale, most of them sell for above retail and then they tack on extra drop ship fees to pour salt in the wound. I guess I should have seen the writing on the wall when I realized the company was located in Utah.

I hope the Consumer Protection Agency or FTC or some governmental agency steps in and puts these FRAUDS out of business.

New to Doba

AUTHOR: blazind777 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 06, 2012

Hi, I signed for Dora's free trial to check things out. Everything sounds good enough to sign up and figure I have 14 days to see how things are. Not sure with some of the things I've been reading because I'm still new. I do know that Doba does have a lot of items but the items I've seen so far don't have a lot of room to make a profit. I'm not looking to get make big money over night but anyone on Doba is on to make money. For example Doba will list an item msrp for $59.99 but sell it to me for $49.99. So there is what ten dollars and that's not including the shipping. I haven't checked out everything but this seems to be what I'm seeing so far. In the next few days ill see how it goes and will write back.

Do Not Give Doba your Credit Card OR Phone Number!

AUTHOR: Barbara - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 31, 2010
DO NOT GIVE DOBA YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! They will keep charging your credit card even after you cancel and will not credit back no matter how blue in the face you get. Literally they don't care about their customers or if they ever come back. I feel very STUPID to fall for this SCAM! Doba owner is laughing all the way to the bank. Doba said their terms will not allow to credit back credit cards no matter what the problem, rather system fault are not. WATCH OUT! DOBA TERMS ARE A SCAM! I had to close my credit card to stop the automation charges.  Doba doesn't care about anything else but tricking you into the $59.95 a month membership fee or better yet get you for the yearly fee. Doba will harass you by phone everyday until you give in.

Doba products are very high priced and already at retail. Ebay sellers already have the same products selling on Ebay for less money then what Doba has. How could that be? it's because these sellers on Ebay are going direct to the manufactures/suppliers. You can contact them direct and get the same deal Doba gets and make 100% profit. Doba's game/SCAM is not the products but the membership fee. Doba doesn't care about customer service or if their customers EVER come back. Business school's 1st RULE is to keep customers coming back by keeping them Happy and interested. My take on all this is who ever thought up Doba has NO EDUCATION what so ever and why would you want to do business with someone like this that has no clue how to run a REAL business and only knows how to SCAM people out of their money. Good business people don't do this!

Look at all the complaints on the internet. If you search Google you will find 1000's of complaints on the internet and to think about all the people that got ripped off that didn't write a complaint review. I was stupid to try the free trial and get scammed into it by their harassing phone calls. please don't fall for it. Please make my stupid mistake a lesson not to fall for it. As for the owner, manager and the two employees on Doba staff. HOW CAN YOU HURT PEOPLE LIKE THIS! SHAME ON YOU! I WILL BE NOTIFYING THE "SHAME ON YOU" TV NEWS ABOUT THIS SCAM.

Hopefully this complaint will help others to make a smart choice and stay away from Doba. FAR AWAY! Don't even give Doba your telephone number for more information because they will hunt you down and brain wash you with NONSENSE! Don't believe what these people tell you. A COMPLETE SCAM! You will not make any money but lose money! Believe all the complaints you read.... it's all true. Don't believe the positive reviews because the Doba employees write those to throw you off and keep their jobs. TERRIBLE!

Doba employees are begging us to buy to keep there jobs. lol

AUTHOR: bustinbassbaits - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 02, 2010

I love how Doba's employees come here and stick up for there company so they can keep there jobs. You have to understand also that they pay people to find negative posts on there company and there jobs are to wright posts to defend there company or act like they are an extremely happy customer and speaks highly of them to the extreme. in hopes of not loosing more business. Trying to convince the still gullible people that its ok to fall into there scam.

WELL ITS NOT! Scumbags like Doba should be hung! The only true and worthwhile drop shippers are small independent companies that wants to grow. They are the ones who will take care of you. There the one who wont scam you. They understand you are helping them and they don't want to loose that. They are true honest people not looking to make a bad name for their company.

Doba employees answer this question.  If you can make so much money using Doba why the hell are you working with the company directly? Why not take advantage of this easy money making scheme and do it yourself? Are you that stupid not to take advantage of all this easy money you can make by sitting on your fat asses and have a lot of freedom being you own boss.

You said something in the terms of "you can make $500 dollars a weak easy and you call that a scam"? I love that! Its great you are a truly dedicated brown noise employee. The only people that I see who are saying this company is great are the employees. Have you read the 1 million other complaints from the people that actually tried it? Compare that to the 5 employees that get paid to defend the company. If doba don't like seeing everyone complaining about them I think its safe to say theirs a problem that the company will not fix. You bet if I had a bad name for my company all over then net then making the correct changes would be in your best interest in order to stay in business as they do not do. Doba will have many lawsuits to deal will soon.

Now why would an employee choose to work lets say in a cubical being one of the sales people that try and convince (scam) customers to pay a years worth of monthly fees in advance when the trial period has just started.  Why give them a sales pitch to pay for the whole year of membership instead of paying monthly? Because you know that will be the last chance that doba will get anymore money from the customers after they see the truth.

Why cubical scam negotiator employee would you not want to quit your $200 a week career scamming the unexpected people to give there money to your company rather than yourself taking advantage of this "great" company to become a successful money making machine for the company you worked for. I would think that would be the smart thing to do. Doubling up your paycheck and some would only be the best in your interest.

You and the rest of Doba employees do not and I bet not one of you have even attempted to do so. Why? Because its a legal scam operation and you need a job so you still work there and probably will until Doba goes under. By then I hope you make at least $210 a weak salary. McDonald's will pay you more.

All you people that are looking for an easy way to sell online and actually make money. Should never try these drop shipping companies as no one will succeed to put food on the table.

This is how you do it and this is what I have done and became very successful with my business selling online. I do this full time and make more than enough. If I want a raise I expand and by more verities of items to sell. The possibilities are endless and you can go as far as you want doing it.

Its very easy to do and easier than to signing up with Doba and tossing your money in the trash by giving it to them. Start your own business from scratch and you are the boss. Everything goes the way you want it to go. Now that's the real way to do it and do not expect anything less.

The more you have to invest the better you will be. I started with only $150 and now I have about $30,000 in inventory and made about 50k in the year and a half since I started. Go to www.alibaba.com and find items you want to sell. Choose the country you want to buy from. China is the best and cheapest to buy items. Talk to many companies and see what people have to offer. Everyone will be different so pick a manufacturer that suites your wallet and needs. Negotiate with all the companies that make products you want. They do have minimum order amounts. Some are crazy like 5,000 pieces per item. Many small and newer companies sell much less like 5 or 10 items per item. That means you have to buy at least that number of pieces of the same product. Doing research on the companies is a good idea just by typing the companies name and the word scam in the google search box. If someone was ripped off by that company you will find it.

Most companies you don't have to worry about. They wont take your money and if you have any problems with your order they will take care of you. So far all the mistakes they made with my orders they replaced it for free and always told me to keep the items that either was the wrong item or some defects on them for free. Its great now you have all this free stuff and you can still sell it. I love it when they screw up! You cant loose! I made a ton of extra cash from there mistakes. I am 100% satisfied buy from manufacturers in china. You don't need any business licence to buy from them. You cash is your licence. They don't care who you are or what your doing with the products. Money talks in China.

Do not buy any electronics from China or items that are counterfeit. I will bet any amount of cash you want to bet that you will ever never see your money again. Want to bet? Every company that claim to make or sell name brand electronic items of every kind is a scam that people loose millions of dollars a year falling into there trap. So don't even think about doing it. You have been warned!

Buying counterfeit or copies of name brand stuff is very risky and its best not to buy that stuff either. If they don't steal your money and send you the products. The quality of those items are very poor and when you have it in your hand you will easily see that it is not genuine because the stuff looks like crap and you couldn't even sell the stuff using the brand name because there quality is that bad. Also if customs see those items they will not give them to you and they will be confiscated. So you loose on that one also.  Everything that comes out of China is all generic brand. You can not buy name brand items. If anyone tells you different then its a scam.

They do make name brand stuff in China but they cant sell it to you. They contracts with the name brand companies and in that contract it says they can not sell this item to anyone except to the original branded company. If they don't go by the contracted they will not only loose good business but get suid badly.

However you can have companies make the counterfeit items for you. Example is if I want to have some Nike shoes made I will send them the shoes to a company that makes shoes. Send them the original Nikey shoe in the original box and tell them to make the shoes and box exactly the same and they will. They will charge you extra so they can get the items needed to do and set up the machines to make them. They never turn down money. If you have the money they will make anything for you.

Most of the other companies are safe to buy from but always look into the company first before buying. Never rush or have someone rush you into buying. I real company will not keep bugging you to buy from them as most scammers do. I cant say this enough though. Do not buy electronics of any kind out of china. It is a 110% scam and you will loose every time guaranteed.

So if you want to sell on ebay and make a website and sell everywhere you want and can. I highly recommend taking the same amount of cash you paid doba and find what you want to sell in China on the website I gave you. Then you will be making good money with out the middle man and you will be buying directly from the manufacturers in China. It does not get any cheaper than that. I make a ton of cash doing it and I know you all can too. I don't think you would be disappointed unless you try buying items I told you not to buy.

I just told you how to be independent being your own boss with freedom and the amount of cash you want to make is all up to you. I didn't even charge you all any kind of fees and you will no doubt be more successful than at least 100 people combined that joined doba. It will be slow at first as it is to everyone but keep going. You will see sales steadily climb every month and one day BOOM! You got it all! Keeping a good amount of money in the bank for once is a nice feeling when you get to that level. When I started this people thought I was crazy and doubted that this was going to workout enough to support myself never mind the family. There not thinking like that now! There now thinking how much can you give me? Buy me this! Buy me that!

Just by putting items up for sale, packing orders and answering questions. For a couple hours a day you will most likely make more than you ever have before and you can grow as big as you desire. One good tip is try NOT to sell items that everyone sells its to competitive selling like that. You will find that selling items that are necessary and used on a daily basis and/or items people don't sell a lot of like unique or items that are new on the market will be the most successful. No matter what though you will do good. One more thing is you will need room for inventory. A spare room, basement, garage, shed anything will work. If you don't have the room then buy items that are small but profitable. You'll figure it out from there.

Welcome to the real world of business!

Good Luck & Enjoy The Wealth!

Doba is not to smart!

AUTHOR: bustinbassbaits - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 02, 2010

Having a business licence or tax ID is very much true if you want to buy from manufacturers and so called wholesalers in the US. If you think not then I suggest to go on any state government website and read for yourself. So far there was not one company that did not ask me for mine which I do have. Your SS# can also be used instead but the reason why people get business licence a tax ID or resale licence is because its not always a good idea to give out your SS# and many do not want to. Tax ID # is basically your SS#. They do it this way because its safer and no one's will have your SS# You definitely will not want to give out your SS# if you have a business making a lot of money.

In most cases middle men companies like doba may not ask for this information. Honestly there basically a retailer scam and not a manufacturer or a wholesaler. Doba is probably desperate anyways so they dont ask. Also if you have a business licence most of those people are smart enough to know not to buy from doba and similar companies. Instead we have in our hand a tax ID# which allows us to buy directly from the very same companies that doba deals with. There is no need for the middle man.

So I will suggest that you shut the hell up doba! This goes to show you about how much you know about business.

JUST BUY FROM CHINA.

AUTHOR: bustinbassbaits - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, July 02, 2010

Unfortunately in reality making easy money is not always easy to do. If the money sounds too easy to make, then its a possible scam for others to make money or selling something illegal like drugs and that has its penalties.

Using drop shipping services is more of a legal scam that many fall into. If there prices and such are that low and profitable they wouldn't have to show them to you only after you pay them the fees to join. Letting people take a test drive before they give you complete details on everything involved would only be to fair and no one will use them and they know this. They have to be clever into tricking you to suck up your cash.

Other than scam or greed there is no reason why you should have to pay for a membership of any kind. If you do make them pay for a membership. Then have them pay several months after they been a customer. If that company feels that you will be happy with their drop shipping service they will pay for membership fee to continue to sell. If its really profitable to live on then customers will never leave and there will always be new customers lining up to get a piece of the easy money making business everyone is talking about.

Word of mouth is the best advertising any company can get. It will also bring the biggest companies to its knees. If theyre that great of a company everyone will learn about it that is looking to get into a business like that. Plus, if you can join for free and quit when you want with no obligations what so ever, business would go through the roof for the drop shipping companies. If I would have started a company like that I wouldn't do it any other way.

Dont worry Doba! We love suing companies like you in the US. You will get your turn many times over. I promise you that! All companies like you get whats coming to them. Then you too will see making easy money is not easy to do when its taken away from you. Even EBay and Paypal have and will continue to be suede and loose 10s of millions. Every company has flaws to take advantage of. Its always the bigger companies that will get it coming to them.

I myself at one time have looked into becoming self employed selling online after I was laid off from my job. I looked into the drop shipping business but felt that it was just a scam and did not give in to them. I continued looking to see how I can do this and actually make a living from it as I still do today.

The best way to go is buying from the manufacture up front of any items you want to sell. If you buy from suppliers in the US you will need a tax ID number but in most states there only $25. You can apply online on your states government website. You will immediately receive your tax ID number after the application and payment is received.

In other countries money is your business license. They can care less who you are and what you do with the products you buy from them. As long as you can pay for the merchandise they will be happy to sell to you forever.

There are bad companies out there so YOU MUST look into them before you buy. Its harder to get your money from someone in a different country. No matter what! DO NOT BUY electronics from overseas especially China. I promise you that you will never ever see your money again so don't do it. Mostly everything else you will be safe buying unless its counterfeit or copies of name brand items. If theyre willing break laws in selling illegal items then taking your money will also not be a problem for them to do.

The more money you have to invest the more you will make. Always buy a few small orders and get samples before making larger purchases. Better to be safe than sorry.

I personally buy everything from China and so far so good. Never had any problems because I do what I can to check out the companies. You can also ask for references. Most don't mind giving you a few of their customers info that are in your country. If they tell you no then move on to the next supplier.

Its a slow process if you start with little money like I have done. Over time its rewarding. I started with $150 and bought some small items from China. The companies require minimum orders and prices are all different so find one that suits your needs. I at least doubled my money every time and I only reinvest the profit from it until I'm big enough to be making steady flow of cash and living comfortably. I spend very little money from the profit I make from it and use it to buy larger verity of items to sell.

Now one and a half years later! I make an easy minimum of $1,000 weak and growing. Not only can I resupply when needed. I continue to buy new items to sell. I can afford to live and pay my bills comfortably and live life without being a slave to an employer. I can do what I want when I want just by selling items on eBay and my website. Thanks to EBay I send all my customers my website info when they receive their order. My prices are lower on my site so they buy from my site instead and they tell their friends and so on. Now I make more money from my site than I do from using eBay. My site cost $10 a month and I was at one point paying eBay over $500 a month.

Selling the way I do is the way to go and you don't have the problems you would have with drop shipping. Like is the item in stock customers asking questions you cant answer or when are they going to ship it to the customer? This only gives you a bad name and will hurt your business worse. That alone is not worth the couple bucks you made that week.

Anyone who thinks they can hopefully make a living from drop shippers soon find out this will never happen. If you want to sell and can sell online then you need to be in control of everything if you want succeed. The money you gave away to the drop ship companies for your membership could have started your own business like it has for me. I know have over $30,000 in inventory in my basement. Not bad for starting with $150 1 1/2 years ago.

Once you learn the ropes just like doing anything else for the first time. It will get easier and more rewarding as long as you continues to want it and do it.

If you buy from other countries you don't need a business license to buy from them or to sell online. Uncle Sam will be happy with your SS# but I say the hell with Uncle Sam.

When you buy from the manufactures you cant buy it for less. Well unless you find another manufacture that sells for less but the ball is in your court. You can be completive and still make good money not to mention blowing all the drop shippers out of the water.

I noticed my competitors noticing me after losing some of their business to me because my prices were slightly lower and shipping was extremely lower. They lowered the prices on the same items I sold to be completive by a good amount and I lowered mine even more. They cant compete with me and I know that for a fact. I can go much lower and still make good money. I was gifted when I found a little gold mine supplier who is not easy to find. I talked to every manufacture in China that makes the stuff I sell. Every company charges 4-5 times more than this one particular company. The prices were so unreal I thought they were a scammer until they gave me references of customers they have in the US. They all said great thing including their prices being unbeatable. I had to give them a try now. I make big money with them. Thats how I know no one can beat my prices even if they tried.

One competitor was coping the same sales I was having so I kept changing them and seen he did the same. He even contacted me asking to come to an agreement to sell for the same prices so we both can maximize our profits. I talked to him about copping all my ads and how I didnt appreciate that but was nice and said we can try it out and see how it goes. Later on down the road I see that he lowered his prices. I will only be nice for so long so now it was time to put him out of business. So I did! He still sells but not like he did at one time. He definitely had to get a full time job because no one can live off of his sales he makes a moth that I can see. He is definitely not happy with me but he did it to himself.

The reason I explained this to you all is that there is hope and it is defiantly possible to start something with nothing. You will have to research and work for it but I promise it will pay off. Never give up and do not let someone else control your business. You and only you have to be the boss in control 100% or it will never turn out the way you want it to.

I was a high school dropout because Im dyslexic and I knew I didnt need to graduate to be successful in life. I knew what it took to be successful in life was to be determined on what you want in life and then learn how to accomplish that. I always made more money and owned nicer and more things than my friend that graduated, went into the service and got a collage education for free from joining the military. While they were in the military and collage and washing dishes part time I was learning the real world and what it really took to be independent. By the time they got out of collage I was already set in life and they were just starting it. I got jobs that most companies would laugh at you if you apply without a degree or training of some sort. Only because I was more determined and convincing that I can be trained by them and I am just as good or better as anyone else. They like motivation, determination, confidence and a leader attitude. At the same time it will save them some cash because I offer to work for less pay until I prove I was worth it and it works out. If you need a raise dont wait for 5-10 years for the company you work for to finely pay you wanted 5 years ago. Take your experience you learned and apply for a higher paying job while youre still working for the company your about to leave. If you have to then do this until your making the money you want and need.

You must think in the terms of not becoming the drop shipping companys customer but becoming the company that drop ships for your customers and you will do just fine with determination.

Wholesale Vs Dropshipper

AUTHOR: Jestin - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 04, 2010

I think you should take a moment to think of the difference between Wholesale, and Drop shipping.  If you think you are going to get the same rates for drop shipping single items, as retail stores who order in bulk, dream on.

Lets take a look at why businesses who order products wholesale, get the best rate.

Wholesalers: When a company buys wholesale, they are buying in bulk.  In case you don't realize what that means, it means they buy a great many, not just 1 or a few.  It is easier to give a better rate when buying in bulk (When buying say 100 of something, its easier to get a lower price per item then when you buy just one, or a couple).

Examples you see in the stores all the time:
Buy 1 for $9.95, buy 3 for $24.95.

This is a short example of the concept.  What if you were able to purchase 30 from a supplier for $199?  That would mean you were getting them at U$6.63 each.  Because you bought them in B U L K.  Wholesalers and manufacturers can do that.  In fact, they do it quite often.

Also, wholesalers do not have to charge tax to the business.  Sales tax is paid by the customer who buys the product from the stores.  Its always paid by the consumer.

Drop Shippers:  Here you will get (in most cases) prices lower than retail stores, but you can't expect to get the same kind of discount the retailers get for buying bulk, when you are only buying one at a time.  Buy you do get a good value for the extra money spent.

Example:

What you don't need:
- You do not need to buy in bulk, the drop shipper does this for you.
- You do not need to own a warehouse, the drop shipper has one.
- You do not need any overhead, you only buy the product after you sell it.
- You do not need a shipping center, a drop shipper will ship it to your customer for you, under your businesses name.
- You do not need a ton of employees dedicated to shipping products, or filling orders, as the drop shipper does that all in your companies name.

These are many resources you do not need, because they are provided by the drop shipper.  Should they really be expected to sell products at the same price per unit they buy it for, without marking it up to pay for the resources they provide, so you don't need them?

What you DO need:
- An idea of what you want to sell.
- To spend a little effort researching what you want to sell, to find out the margin you could make reselling the product
- A little effort researching, to find the best place to sell the product.
- A good ad, to advertise the product (drop shippers will often provide examples)
- A little effort posting the ad somewhere either in an auction (Yahoo, eBay, or any of the others), Online Market Places (Amazon, or any of the many others), or a good place to host your own online store, as well as shipping if they charge for it.
- A way to forward orders (along with the drop shippers price for the products), to the drop shipper, and make sure they know where to send it.
- Some time to count the money you made, selling products you didn't already have, using resources you didn't have.  You do the work to sell the items retail, and the mark up is your reward.

One thing to ponder:  Many things you get for free, aren't worth the money you didn't pay for them.

Think of these things before you slander a good company just trying to survive, and provide the best service they can.  Be advised that unfounded slander like this, could allow legal action to be taken against you.  (From the responses I see from the owners, they have not opted to take that approach.)

It falls on an age old concept:  All Play and No Work makes Jack a Poor Boy.  Learn it well.

I've Researched Doba

AUTHOR: Ryan - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 11, 2006

While I would not join Doba and have found them to be quite overpriced, I would not go as far as to call it the Doba scam. I'm not a fan of Doba.com, but I think the Doba rep did an adequate job of explaining the position of the company. Still, the bottom line is that I would not give the company my money, as I feel that there are better alternatives. Join with caution and use good judgement, but that is the case with any company.

Doba has Marked up the prices

AUTHOR: Sammy-the-bull - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 20, 2006

Doba has Marked up the prices

I joined Doba quite some time ago and I have found out who some of these dropshippers are, so I joined the dropshippers directly. I have found that Doba is using these same dropshippers and are marking up the products from 8-15 percent over the cost YOU can buy them directly from the dropshipper.

Since dropshippers sell products higher than wholesalers do, because they have to re-package each item and send it out one at a time, there is NOT much room for profit in it in the first place, now you have companies like Doba springing up all over the place and taking YOUR PROFITS away from YOU!

Take notice that Doba claims that they are NOT marking up any of the products.

Anyone here willing to help me expose their entire dropship list, I will be posting mine here.

DOBA, aka Wholesale Marketer loves to rip off the general public. They are indeed a scam. Any positive remarks left in their defense on this website are, in fact, employees of the company 99% of the time. I encourage everyone thinking of doing business with this company to avoid it at all costs. For everyone who has been ripped off by this company, please report it to the Federal Trade Commission's website, at www.ftc.gov, so we can finally get this company investigated and closed down.

Wholesale Marketer 15 Month Pre-Pay

AUTHOR: Wendy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 26, 2006

I'm so exhausted writing letters to them and my credit card company so I'll make this short. I wasn't happy so I cancelled my membership. They never bothered to credit me the 15 month prepayment they charged me even though I only had the account for a few months. This was the end of last year and I am still doing battle with them and my credit card company to get my $250 back. They were so helpful on the front end, but complete jerks on the back end. Ebay is saturated with their products so don't expect to make a dime. That was the main reason I cancelled.

Just something I've noticed...

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 09, 2006

"I'm just looking for somewhere to post good things about Wholesale Marketer and to defend them. All I really want it more competitors selling the same products and to spend time defending a company online."... Does this make sense?

I cannot help but notice the number of "I'm just someone who used this service and liked it" posts here are off scale.

It is very uncommon for a customer of a company to come to the ripoff-report to post company praise or to 'stick-up' for a company... Hey, if you really do love Wholesale Marketer that is great. But all the posts here in defence of the company makes some red-flags raise.

I have never used Wholesale Marketer, not interested in wholesale. What I do know however as I've stumbled across this report is that it is SO RARE for a consumer to come here and post positive reports on their own initiave that usually those good reports are posted by people within the company. Yes, it is true.

WM may be a fine company, but they do seem to have many reports. But as I have now said, the number of posts defending the company is more suspicious. Just READ the 'defensive' posts carefully. They even read the same, even though one guy (although it says 'employee' in the post) posts with experience of a client and the next guy says he/she is an employee.

So, take the good and bad with a big grain of salt. Remember, people will cry SCAM any time they don't make some instant cash. These people have probably cried scam more than once; more than twice. BUT... If a company really is posting positive reports on themselves it is reasonable to believe they would also otherwise practice unethical business.

I mean come on guys, those positive customer reports even READ LIKE AN AD... Seriously -- stop that!

The bottom line is.... If you don't like what Wholesale Marketer offers that does NOT make them a SCAM... Or even a rip off. HOWEVER, if thy promise your money back and do not give it, that is another story.

Just thought I'd post my opinion. Thanks for reading.

How to really make money with drop shipping

AUTHOR: Kent - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 07, 2006

With millions of people trying to make money on line Drop shipping has become a flooded market.
This is understandable there is quiet an appeal to sitting at home having people order off your web page and having someone else carry you're inventory then ship it for you. This idea boils down to getting paid while others due the work. Nice in theory in reality its crap. Doesn't work for everyone. The flat truth if you want good pricing you have to spend MONEY the kind of money most people don't have lying around and if you do have money its usually already tied up in your chain of stores like walmart, target get the point the drop shippers available to you and me are the same ones being used by millions of other people with the same idea.

However there is one avenue left. Design a website. Expose it on the internet make promises you know you cant keep sign up with all those drop shippers who are willing to deal with small end buyers(the same ones available for free to anyone). Pretend you have ware houses all over the country.

Then convince people to sign up charge them a monthly fee call it what ever you like service fee consultant, exc. Then markup the product up before your new client marks it up so you make acouple of dollars add on shiping fees (not all companys will add shipping just the really greedy ones) you get a few hundred people to do this and now you have really learned the secret to drop shipping on the internet

There is one more point I should make be sure to have an airtight contract locking them in to there monthly service fees.

I want to make it very clear this is sarcasm the people that run these can be found in the dictionary under Bottom feeding pondscum the only thing lower are the idiots defending these practices. Who are most likely scared to death of a hard ethical days work.

And if ive offended anyone GOOD you need awake up call just because you make money doesn't make it right.

When searching the internet for info keep a few things in mind the people who have been screwed are willing to tell what happened to them for free and do not stand to make a dime from you. On the other hand these other clowns would lead you to belive that all these people are liars and just lazy and are just picking on them for no reason.

To denigrate is the easy way out.

AUTHOR: Daniel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 06, 2006

If the number of disputing reports is any guide, you can see from the reactions to your "report" that you are far off base. We have used WM for more than four (4) years and have ALWAYS found them to be top notch. It is obvious that you are unaware of the amount of work, and the funds needed, to develop the specific business model and backend IT infrastructure they have designed. It is impressive, to say the least. For a new company starting out I could not recommend a stronger company to partner with. As you learn the wholesale business you can certainly branch out.

Making false and rather libelous statements may, if not be Tortious Interference, be construed as uninformaed inexperience.

They are not a scam, they are a business offering a service. They offer their program with strong member support both in the database management side of the equation and product viability. They are very aggressive in product development and acquisition. Their Terms & Conditions are well spelled out and eminently clear. Read them.

Bottom line, hiding behind the web, to make false claims is not professional. Pick up the phone and call the CEO. As he has said he would love to talk to you to make you happy. Or do you just want to b***h about something and not solve anything. Good luck in your endeavor.

Wholesale marketer is a MIDDLEMAN, despite the lie told in their website at: http://www.doba.com/dropshipper/home_intro_k.htmlWholesale marketer can't allow you, a regular joe blow to sale items at wholesale without a taxID as stated above. Can you make money selling an item without buying at wholesale- OF COURSE. For example, you can buy an item at over the sellers retail asking price- turn around and sell it, making a profit for yourself. The Point-wholesale marketer is clearly being somewhat deceptive, if not entirely by stating they are not a middleman. Look above- their own EMPLOYEE refers to wholesale marketer as a middle man.

To the guy from Canada - Ummm.... Do You have proof of this so called illegality?!

AUTHOR: Trevia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 03, 2006

I honestly don't know whether your claim about selling wholesale to companies without a license being illegal is true. But if so, could you please post a copy of the document or source you received this information from to prove your statement? If not, then like several people, you are just venting about something you don't know. If that is true, a whole lot of companies should be in jail. I have about seven suppliers, neither of which asked for proof of a sellers license. (For example, my jewelry supplier- who I found on my own without wsm- wholesales diamond and gold jewelry for 200 bucks or less. pieces I actually sampled and had taken appraised and were valued at $1200 or more.)

Secondly, DUH!!! What the h*ll?! Of course wholesale marketer is a middleman! Any company that says basically "order from us and we let the supplier know" is a middleman! Otherwise, the actual names of the suppliers would be given on the website. When you use the trial, all of that is CLEARLY stated. Unless of course you are illiterate as well as ignorant.

Third . . . *:pause & blink:* I WILL SAY THIS SLOWLY SO YOU WILL COMPREHEND. N-O-T * E-V-E-R-Y I-T-E-M * S-O-L-D * O-N * T-H-E-I-R * W-E-B-S-I-T-E * I-S * A-T * "W-H-O-L-E-S-A-L-E P-R-I-C-E". BUT THE MAJORITY IS. If you don't want a middleman, spend 70 bucks and buy the world wide brands dropship directory. Otherwise, wholesale marketer is the way to go if you are just starting out and having trouble finding reputable suppliers on your own. One good thing about DOBA (aka wholesale marketer) is that while your store may be using multiple dropshippers, because everything goes to DOBA first-then you, your customer gets everything in one package. If you were doing it on your own, a customer may make a purchase and wind up getting six or seven packages because you are ordering from all the drop shippers seperately. And about the pricing, let me give you an example. I was skeptical about the actual price of a garment listed on the website. I did some searching and found out who their supplier was. I went to the suppliers website and saw that garment AT WHOLESALE PRICE (it was a baby phat shirt. on the official baby phat website, this shirt was priced at 78 dollars). Come to find out- this supplier was a real WHOLESALER! GASP!!! SHOCKING!! And DOBA had even discounted the price of this shirt from what it was listed on the suppliers website for. Not wholesale? hmmmm.......

In conclusion, as stated before, depending on what you sell, you may or may not get it at what you call "wholesale price". For future reference, show some validity for your claims or frankly, shut the h*ll up.

Hahaha, Except For the First Guy, You Guys Crack Me Up!

AUTHOR: Mathieu - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, December 02, 2005

I'll teach you something you guys clearly don't know, and deserve to know.

You must be a legal business to deal directly with wholesalers. It is illegal for a wholesaler (or dropshipper: same thing) to sell at wholesale prices to the public: they can only sell to somebody/business with a sales tax ID!

I repeat: IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A WHOLESALER TO SELL TO THE PUBLIC! IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO SELL TO SOMEBODY/BUSINESS WHO DOESN'T HAVE A SALES TAX ID! IF THEY'RE CAUGHT DOING THAT, THEIR BUSINESS CAN BE CLOSED!

Does Wholesale Marketer ever request your sales tax ID before selling to you? No. What does this mean? It means they're a middleman (THEY have a sales tax ID, and THEY deal directly with the wholesaler): you're not getting the lowest price you could be getting! You're not really getting wholesale prices! They can't sell you a product at the real lowest possible price, because they'd be illegal! (What they're doing is legal, but very unethical.)

For you who says "those are wholesale prices, it's 70% off", those aren't real wholesale prices: there are many products that, at wholesale price, are more than 70% off. So, your competitors can get it for even lower than 70% off. You may be able to match the prices they offer, but you don't make anywhere near as much profits with a sale as they do.

Wholesale Marketer knows most of their members won't make many sales (if any) because they can't compete with others who DO deal directly with the wholesalers, others who DO get wholesale prices. So they make most of their money from making you pay a hefty fee to have access to those warehouses (but still do make money when you buy a product from their website: they usually make more money from it than you do - and you're the one who did all the work to sell the product to your customer).

Guess what? You can have access to those warehouses/wholesalers without paying to have access to them (actually, except for a few exceptions, a real wholesaler/dropshipper will never make you pay to get the possibility of buying its products), and you'll get REAL wholesale prices, not Wholesale Marketer's jacked up prices.

Wholesale Marketer is Awesome!! Entrepreneur Magazine suggests selling . . .

AUTHOR: Trevia - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 01, 2005

Hi! I'm not attempting to bash anyone or their individual experience with Wholesale Marketer, but it is definately NOT a scam. My goal was to sell women's clothing. I've searched several sites and people who claimed to be "wholesale marketers" databases for almost two weeks. I found EXACTLY the quality of clothing that I was looking for at the real Wholesale Marketer website. And yes it is wholesale priced. I think it is wrong to blame Wholesale Marketer for not finding what you wanted. To be honest, it is EXTREMELY hard to sell products like electronics, or products the consumer usually have to touch, smell, or feel before purchasing (such as fragrances, cell-phones, etc. Items like these require people to "test" them first). And it is very hard to find anyone that sells electronics at what many consider wholesale price. But in reality, it's about as wholesale as you can get. I found tons of name brand clothing and several other kinds of quality products at over 75% off retail price. Maybe you should try something that is more fit for a small, freshly starting business like clothing, jewelry, hardware or tools, toys, baby items, CDs, DVDs, etc. In case you find trouble, look in Entrepreneur magazine's HOT LIST Dec. 2005 issue of the top things to sell via internet.

We Want to Help You - Please Contact Us

AUTHOR: Clark - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 31, 2005

Robert,

As a company that is customer-centric we attempt to solve all our customer's concerns in a timely and orderly fashion. As such, we attempted to contact you; however, we have no Robert that lives in New York, New York that recently (in the last 6 months) has activated a trial with our company. We would love to look into your situation and resolve the concerns you have to your satisfaction. Please feel free to email me at support@wholesalemarketer.com ATTN: Clark.

Before I end this response I would like to address your concerns publicly for others that may have concerns about the topics you have lodged against our company.

1) You said, Their advertisement looks enticing and convincing enough for me to fill out the information to get my free trial.

a. We pride ourselves in our honest advertisements and quality products and services. The only statements we make on our site are true. For example, we state that we have 90,000 products. We do.

2) You said, It isn't long before I get a call from Wholesale Marketer "welcoming me" as a new drop shipper with them, when really I am getting a call from a slick sales rep with his own personal agenda (get me to pay as much money as possible up front so he can make his commission).

a. You are correct in stating that we attempt to welcome all our customers. However, like I stated earlier we cannot find you in our customer database so I have no way of knowing if you indeed spoke with one of our account managers. Additionally, we would never welcome you as a drop shipper since you are not one. You are a customer that would be using our drop shipping services.

b. If we were attempting to get as much money as possible from you, we would leave you on the more expensive monthly plan. That is not what the call is about. It is to welcome you by explaining our products and services and seeing if there is a more economical plan for you to be on.

3) You said, Well, needless to say, the sales person was convincing enough about the quality of their service and the money I would save (and I haven't had a chance to really look at what their drop ship service is like in detail yet) to get me to agree to pay for a year in advance.

a. We are the leading drop shipper on the internet. We are the only drop shipper that is an eBay certified developer and service provider as well as a proud member in satisfactory standing with the BBB. Additionally, if you really did speak with us and you did agree to go to the annual plan you did save money. Again, since I cannot find your customer record I cannot inform the public how much you did save.

4) You said, Since then, I have spent countless hours looking for ANY product with wholesale pricing that I can drop ship and make some money.

a. If you indeed spent countless hours (how many did you really spend?) then I have no doubt that you would have found products to sell for a profit. There are several avenues for you to sell thru:
i. Your own ecommerce website or an online web commerce (Amazon stores, Yahoo stores, Froogle, etc.)
ii. Online auction sites (eBay, Ubid, Yahoo, Overstock, etc.)
iii. Your own retail store

b. Which items did you look at and where did you compare them? Our products are sold all over. Can you sell all of our items solely on eBay or any other auction site? Of course not and we do not state that you can. You need to be creative and you need to have the initiative to spend the time doing the research to succeed. Selling online is like any other job. You must put time and effort into it in order for you to succeed. This is not a get rich quick scheme.

5) You said, Wholesale Marketer's service is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I don't know how they can feel good about calling their service a wholesale drop ship service.

a. Why would you make such a serious charge? How did we scam you? Again, I would like to clear this up with you at your earliest convenience. But again, I cannot find you in our database.

b. I do feel good about our wholesale drop shipping product and services. Our goal is to provide great products and services to our customers to assist them in earning an income, be it primary or supplementary. We are currently doing this with thousands of satisfied customers. In order to understand our customers better we have asked several of our employees to start their own online businesses selling our products exclusively. One became an eBay PowerSeller within three months and several others sell successfully thru their own webstores. As with any company there is a chance that some customers may not be satisfied. This is unfortunate and that is why we spend time and money improving our products and services to ensure our customers receive the best tools and products they need to succeed.

6) You said, Not only are the products not Wholesale, most of them sell for above retail and then they tack on extra drop ship fees to pour salt in the wound.

a. Do we have some items that may not be able to be sold for a profit? Of course. The retail business is very competitive. That is why there are many thousands of companies selling the same products. Not one company, dealer, manufacturer has the best pricing on all the products they carry. Not even a WalMart, a company that's buys and sells tens of billions of dollars worth of merchandise.

b. If you see a product we offer that is being sold on eBay or anywhere else for less, DO NOT SELL IT. Find the products you can sell for a profit. We have thousands of them. Are they easy to find? This depends on your understanding of the retail / drop shipping world. We help you understand this by offering you education on our site. It is located under the Resource Center additionally we have a monthly publication called the Elite Sellers Report that is authored by an eBay PowerSeller. This is additional education that with continue to help you achieve success in selling our products for a profit.

c. If you are familiar with drop shipping you would understand the drop ship fee. This is a charge from the manufacturer that they pass on to us. By working with us your drop ship fee will be about 40% lower than if you worked directly with our partners. Of our 15 partners only 10 work with the public; however, they charge set up fees, higher product pricing, higher drop ship fees, and other fees such that they require you order a minimum quantity per month of their products.

7) You said, I guess I should have seen the writing on the wall when I realized the company was located in Utah.

a. Again, this is a very reckless and serious charge with no facts associated with it.

8) You said, I hope the Consumer Protection Agency or FTC or some governmental agency steps in and puts these FRAUDS out of business.

a. Again, another irresponsible and reckless charge.

Sincerely,

Clark Winegar
Director of Product Management
Wholesale Marketer

Additionally I dont know how you can call them a SCAM. The only things they claim is to have 90,000 products. They do. They are a good member of the BBB. They are. They are an Ebay Certified Solutions Provider. They are. They didnt promise me success or make me promises of income.

I will welcome these types of high pressured sales all day. Ones that help me understand the company and drop shipping, give me a good product source and save me almost $500 in fees. Wow what a ripoff. I made my $25o back in my first week of sales. Good Luck with your lazy life and quit trying to hurt good companies.

How can you get sucked in with a free-trial? I did the same free trial. The details of the trial were clearly posted along with package prices and options. I dont know how you can call their sales tactics pushy! The salesman I worked with was more a consultant than salesman. he answered all of my questions and even called me back several times at my own convenience handling my concerns. Overall I totally appreciated their welcome call and did not feel pressured to buy anything. I dont know where you are coming from saying they are just trying to get high sales amounts to boost commissions. The web-site listed to package I bought for $720/Year and I got it for $250. If they were getting commission wouldn't they push the $720 package. Wierd! Also, I know exactly what type of person you are. The one that is sitting on the couch at 4am in the morning and has an idea of how to make a million without doing any work. Keep dreaming. Wholesale Marketer offers a realistic solution to drop shipping and making an additional income. Does it take some research? Yes. Are there good products that will make you money? Yes. You have to do your research but they are there. If you want to get rich quick without any effort, Keep on dreaming.Additionally, you must not be very familiar with your own membership or might have never used it like you claim. The product prices, shippiing and drop ship fees are all listed before you even list or sell the product. You know what your costs are and about what you will get for the product before is even sells. If you dont have good margins dont post it. No one forced you to buy. Just because you are lazy dont make fraudulant calims against a good company and service.
