We financed a purchased of +/-$800 from Sears in July of 2013. We were told by the instore employees that the "new financing service" had just started and we were their first customers taking advantage of its offer. We recieved only one reciept stating of when the payments would be automatically debted from our checking account and were able to look over the brochure of the service quickly but could not take it with us as it was the only copy they had. The employees explained that after the 5th payment of $140 was made we had the option to pay it off then or continue to lease it for an additional few months to pay the remaining balance that would have been roughly $400.

So lets recap. 140x5=700 plus the "pay off" amount of 400...for a total of around $1100. We understood that and had no problem paying the extra for it was towards interest. We desperately needed to make the appliance purchase anyways.

Well, after the 5 payments were made we did not have an extra $400 laying around. So we decided to make it in the payments as offered. Letting the $140 be withdrawn automatically until reaching the $400. Well, two extra payments have since been taken out. My husband calls and they basically tell him either we pay $300 now or continue to make the monthly payments of $140 until OCTOBER! That would have made the total amount paid $2100! 2.5  times the actual purchase price.

I call back and speak to an employee that basically says I am trying to have my pay off amount waived and its not going to happen. I try explaining to him that the service we are recieving and that which was explained to us is VERY different. He even agreed that we were the first customers of that store for this new service but its my own fault. I request a supervisor in which he says "He isnt going to do anything for you either." I request it again. He puts me on hold for several minutes. He comes back on the line to say that his supervisor is currently on the phone but replied via email stating that they will credit us partially to a $255 pay off and we have 2 months to pay it.

Ok so that leaves us still paying $1935 for a $800 purchase!!

I requested to speak to the supervisor again but the employee stated "We are closeing in 21 minutes so it wont be today. He set up the credit. I requested that the supervisor at least contact me at some point, employee said he would but yet didnt get my phone number or verify it before ubruptly hanging up. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!
