Beware of Wild Blue. If you have any other choices, do not waste money on their inferior services. I feel sorry for all those without another option, apparently this is so for many outside the urban centers around the country.

I at 59, feel I have had experienced many contractual relationships, and several Internet Service Providers (ISP's) But have not had any with as many weak promises of service speeds that simply do not exist, or just simply, management that does not give a dam. And C/O service with WB seems always to fall on deaf ears. A favorite of the help lines is, "Atmospheric conditions".

More likely I assume is too many users tied to one satillite. My speed has never rose above a 350 MBPS download (usually below 200mbps) and an even smaller 100mbps uploads. Especially the upload speed, that many times fails even to download web pages before they time-out. Remarkably, their customer diservice site provides no way to report these things directly.

Checked the BBB at their physical address and they had been tossed off that rating service for "Not responding to complaints". In this case I say run their business through the BBB site before signing up with WB, to see for yourself.

They will not let you go once they have your money coming in. And they will insist on a bank or credit draw rather than let you pay any other way. (Wonder why?) (ha ha).

Words to the wise...

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 11, 2009

i used to be a starband & direcway dealer. after 6 months of promises of equipment be sent to me. also starband had total control of the customers download speed. i ended up signing up with pegsas powered by direcway. but the problem with all of them with their 30 day money back guarantee is. having to go remove the equipment.. now we were told that the only money we had to give back was the equipment and no the installation. but im wasnt in the business of stealing money from the customer. so i ended up stuck with 3 systems and not willing to install any more. but even after telling the customer all the disclosures. they still wanted their money back. they other thing was that direcway decided to control the speed of the pegsas customers speed. there was a lawsuit and pegsas won. then they got out of the satellite internet business. i started to take the wild blue installer test. after 25 years in the satellite business . i realized that i was tired of proving my skills . the one thing ive learned in this is . that the told us that not to make any guaranteed promises of speed. that their were many variables that could effect the download speed . with starband i got 128kbps down 41kbps up, direcway 128 kbps down 41 kbps up, sprint air card 400 kbps down 128 up (their website said 400 to 800 kbps down with peaks of 3 mbps), and now cricket aircard 350 kbps down. now wild blue offered 3 speeds 1.5 mbps, 1 mbps and 512 kbps download speed. but in the best of conditions you will never see the offered speed. even a 56 kbps modem wont get 56 kbps download speed.always check the disclosures before you sign up for anything. someone must have told you a whopper 350 mpbs download speed. att dsl highest is 18 mbps. ive heard it all. ive been told by some my satellite is great then other didnt like it and the same for cable and dsl. now while at the direcway meeting they told us that they offered a guaranteed 2 gbps download speed. but would never tell us how much. the other thing ive noticed going on in the industry is that they are all oving to limited download per month of 5 gig. i dont know if it has hit the satellite industry yet or not. i know that att, verizon, att, sprint and cricket have all done this in their air cards. crickets tv ads say unlimited, but their brochures and website limited 5 gig download a month. so do your homework before signing anything...........
