I think this applies to the entire corporate Planet Smoothie, but at least to the Clemson, SC store. They have you order by ounces, offering 22, 32, and 44 ounce smoothies. 32oz and 44oz are dead on, but try to put 22oz of liquid into one of their "22oz" cups and you will have 2oz left over. I noticed that the box they came in when their shipment was being carried in was marked as 20oz cups would be, but thought they might have a custom cup. The lids are not domed to hold another 2oz or anything. Upon asking someone there, they said that yeah, they are 20oz cups but they aren't supposed to be telling me that. Customers should be angry for the ripoff, and employees for being forced to lie to keep their job. If this is incorrect in any way I will be happy to update my report to reflect any mistakes made, but once an employee told me that, I can only believe it to be true.

Just in case

If it somehow turns out that these cups do indeed hold 22oz, then this complaint is instead about properly educating the employees about the product. If you go there, see how much you can fit in the cup next time and check for yourself!

Really?

Oh come on, you're all hot under the collar about two whole ounces? This is a major upset in your life? This is a ripoff to you? Take a breath and if it upsets you that much, don't go there anymore.

Yeah...

Not the end of the world, no, but if we let small things like this happen with chains, they'll all add up to being a bigger deal. It just seems careless for a chain. I'd expect it at a mom and pop place. Maybe the employee was misinformed, but sounded like they knew what they were talking about enough to convince me. I think the fact that they are well aware of it and don't change it is what peeved me. When a 24 ounce soda is a good bit more than a 20 ounce, I'd say ounces do matter. They COULD just call them small/medium/large, and change what size they are whenever they want, but by advertising in ounces, they should deliver.

Nevermind

After reading more about the reputation of this site in general, they don't deserve to be called out as harshly as this site seems to. While I'm for proper product labeling, they do have good smoothies and don't need to be considered a bad company. I was simply thinking they probably ordered their cups from somewhere new and didn't want to change all their signs. I was hoping someone from the company might want to correct it, but don't want this at the top of a web search every time someone looks them up. If it is, then yeah its not a huge deal. They shouldn't be avoided or anything. Just get a bigger size and you'll get what it says for sure. You can see how big the cup is anyway, just go by your eyes. Now go get your smoothie!
