Like the other person, I also went to this location expecting to get the loan in 24 hours, but was denied. Then after the IRS filing start date I was supposed to get my check within 1 to 3 days, again, all of a sudden i did not qualify. I have never had this problem before when filing my taxes with a rapid refund business. Then i was told that my check would be there on January 29 "FOR SURE", I drove all the way over there only to find that there was no one at the office and they had a sign on the door stating that the IRS will be mailing out our checks complete with the refund hot line for the IRS. After I called the IRS I found that my check had indeed been deposited into the "Tax servicer" account. So i called and called, when I finally got someone when came up with some crack pot story about her computers being down and the IRS depositing the funder in their account with anyones name tied to them. Yeas stupid I know, since when does the IRS make huge mistakes like that.
To make a long story a little shorter, I finally went in that Saturday Jan 30 and picked up my check. I should have been relieved but unfortunately not. The check she issued to myself and about 20 other very angry customers did not look like the normal checks that you would normally get from a tax servicer. I tried to cash the check that Saturday at 3 different check cashing locations, nobody would cash it. Of course I run back to the tax office before they disappear like before. All they can say is they don't know what happened and I should be able to cash my check at a Chase bank, since it was drawn there. So I had to wait until Monday to cash my check, and thats not he worst part. I had to open a Chase checking account to cash the check because the woman (named Paulette) had a check cashing limit on her account because, Get This, she had just opened the account 3 days prior to that Monday! She was only allowed to have a check up to $3,000 cashed, and my check was a little over that amount so I had to leave the remaining balance in the bank.
I called another Instant Tax location to try to get the corporate number so I could complain, I think I should get the fee back that they charged just for the inconvenience alone, not even including the lies and disappearing acts. The guy I got at the other location let me speak with his manager who informed me that they do Not Use Chase bank for their checks, everyone is supposed to use the same bank. He was supposed to have someone from corporate give me a call back, so I guess we will see!
Sorry this is so long, but I had to tell the whole tale. This lady is obviously up to no good or at the very least careless and overwhelmed. In any case you should not trust something as important as your taxes with these people.
