The reason(s) I am demanding a refund from this company is because of improper business practices and poor customer service on the part of the representatives of TaxMasters.

Initially, I discussed my tax situation with their representative. During our “Free Consultation” period I discussed payment arrangements and informed their representative that I did not want TaxMasters to have access to my accounts and that the only way I would do business with TaxMasters would be to send a personal check for the amount negotiated.

The first installment of $1450.00 was made out as a personal check from my wife's bank account. Their rep. asked me to fax him a copy of the check prior to putting the check in the mail so that I could prove to him that there was a check made out to TaxMasters. I faxed a copy of the check and put the personal check in the mail on Aug 11, 2008. On Aug 12, 2008, before the check had even arrived at the TaxMasters office a check was submitted to my wife's account in the amount of $1450.00 to pay to the order of TaxMasters. The check that was submitted was not a personal check from me, but rather a computer generated check without my signature. This check was not authorized by my wife and could not have been authorized by me because I do not have access to my wife's account.

On Aug 18, 2008 the personal check I had mailed to TaxMasters was submitted to my wife's account for payment. She contacted her bank and put a stop payment on this check until I could determine who at TaxMasters had issued the other check.

I have tried continuously to get someone from your organization to contact me with no avail. This is poor customer service and poor business practices and I will not do business with an organization that disregards me in this way.

So with this said I am demanding a refund in the amount of $1450.00 which was withdrawn from my wife's account without authorization.
