Kelly Howland Neglectful Landlord Springfield Missouri

On the morning of May 28th, the ceiling collapsed in one of the bedrooms in the home I was renting from Ms Howland. (located at 3213 W Latoka, Springfield, MO) I called her immediately and reported the collapse and the fact that we could see black mold throughout the ceiling. She did not look at the ceiling until the evening of May 29th. It was dangerous for me and my sons to be exposed to the falling mold and insulation. Kelly did not offer safe lodgings until repairs were made. She did not have the mold tested for safety of inhabitants. My sons and I had to evacuate the house. I found another place to rent on such short notice. I spoke with kelly about her returning my deposit in full and she was agreeable. However, on the date we agreed to meet to exchange keys and deposit, she failed to appear and refused to take my calls. Today I received a letter from Kelly charging for bogus damages and a refusal to return my deposit at all. She has already rented the patched up, untested home to an unsuspecting family. She is an irresponsible landlord.
