My car was inspected at the request of a potential buyer by SGS Automotive Inspection Services. I agreed to the inspection that the purcharser was going to pay for. The inspection personell came to my house on March 27th, 2008. The person that inspected my car wore a wedding ring that scratched the car and it's paint in numerous places during his inspection - doing damage to my car.
The company now states that my car being damaged by their employee should be taken up with the person that requested the inspection; taking no responsibility or liability for their employees actions. I am now stuck with a scratched car that this company left me with - and they take no responsibility or corrective actions to fix the problem they created.

Here is their email to me:
We regret hearing about the issue you've had with our inspection performed on your [car]. However, because this inspection was purchased and is now property of the potential buyer, Mr. JG, we are unable to take any action in hopes to resolve this matter. Any complaints and/or issues surrounding this inspection would have to be sent in by Mr. Gary Johnson.

SGS Automotive Services is a highly respected company world/ nationwide, us inspector's take great pride in what we do for all of our customer's. I feel that possibly this customer was upset for the fact that his vehicle did not sell to named party and feel that it was our inspection that caused him to report this. I can reassure reader's as a Employee of this Company they take it very serious when it comes to a claim or a customer upset with a Inspection,(not that it happens at all). As a Employee of SGS I stand by all my inspections. Some people feel that a vehicle is worth more to sell on ebay then off the street. We tell the buyer's exactly what they want to know. As a 5 year Employee in Automotive Services, I have inspected many vehicles that I feel were perfectly discribed. I inpsect a vehicle that as if i was purchasing the vehicle and what I would want to know about it. Not all car's sell on Ebay whether it be inspected or not. This is my own opinion. But I speak for all of my fellow inspector's that it could be possible that this vehicle might not have sold.
