I am a senior that insured two autos a year ago with AARP Hartford Ins. Co. thinking I would get a much better rate than other co's.

I just got my new policy which increased 50% over last year, which I made an inquiry about. Hartford's response was gobbly gook about the several factors that MAY have contributed to the increase. Facts are they doubled my collision rate, with no excuse. No tickets, accidents, just the fact my wife and I are a year older. I checked several other co's, and got a quote from Progressive saving me $663.68 for the same policy.. Thanks Hartford..

Yes, that's AARP for sure !! When I was a member, I checked the rates ( as YOU should have done before purchasing from Hartford ) and found out that EVERYONE was lower for the same coverage than the AARP Hartford insurance. They claim that it especially for drivers over 50. There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in that policy that can not be purchased from ANY insurer and for much LESS. AARP is absolutely useless for ANYTHING. All that you really get from them is their sorry liberal magazine displaying vactions and other offerings that NO ONE who is retired can afford. Don't waste your time or money renewing your membership - I certainly didn't.
