I was actually refused insurance by this company because I filed a $2700 claim with my current insurance company.  My furnace caught fire and I risked injury putting it out to save my house and the insurance company thousands of dollars more.  This is my reward.  This company wants no part of anyone who actually files "claims" rather than paying for the damage themselves.  Only looking for people who pay premiums.  Why would one get insurance if they are punished for using it?  This company is greedy and I would stay far, far away.

Standard Practice

AUTHOR: Ashley - springfield (U.S.A.)

Unfortunately this is standard practice in the insurance world. Not just with american family. You filed a claim, which they paid per your insurance. That moved you up to a high risk category. Now that you are high risk they do not want you as a customer. Remember, they are in the business to make a profit. If they kept people that filed claims, then that would be in jeopardy :D Just get a new insurance company, and do your best not to file any further claims or this will happen again.
