Guideone Mutual Insurance Company Ripoff Processed requests for quotes as if they were signed policies Improperly withdrew hazard insurance premium from Mortgage Company West Des Moines Iowa

On March 30 I requested home and auto insurance quotes from a Mr. Steve Eubanks, a representative of Guideone Insurance. (They primarily insure churches!) On March 31 I instructed Mr. Eubanks to take no further action because I wanted to study the numbers he had given me. I did not ask to be insured nor did I sign anything. I considered the matter closed.

About three weeks later, my mortgage company (Chase) informed me that Guideone had submitted replacement coverage and had withdrawn $730 from my escrow account. I consider this just like the slamming the telecommunications companies were guilty of. I called but could get no satisfaction from Guideone, so I filed a complaint with the Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner.

About two weeks ago, after repeated phone calls, Guideone told me they would refund the $730 to the Mortgage company. Chase has not received it yet. Since my escrow account is now low (by $730), Chase Mortgage just recomputed my monthly payment and increased it by about $100.

Today (May 9, 2007)I received a letter from Guideone informing me they were canceling a car policy for non-payment of premium. This is related to the quote that I got from them for auto insurance. They never sent me a bill because there was no policy to begin with.

I wonder if it is possible that Guideone did this in retaliation for my filing a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner and to have justification for submitting deleterious information to the credit bureaus? I was injured in the Murrah Building when it was bombed in 1995, but I feel more victimized by Guideone than I did by the bombing.
