I sell on ebay and my husband innocently thought that Auction Monster might have something I would use. In the end all we have is credit card charges and no product or service from Auction Monster. I still don't know what it is they even have to offer!! It began in May with a charge. My husband phoned them after that first charge and he was told over the phone that our account was cancelled on May 28 and that the payment would be refunded to our credit card. All was good or so we thought. Then we got another credit card charge on June 20 and could not get them on the phone ever again!! So like their terms and conditions state we could either phone or write them to cancel. So we wrote them. Then July 20 we had another charge (each is C$73.30).

We looked them up on the internet and found others here. I told my husband that we needed to call the credit card company. He was refunded the July 20 charge but they said they could not refund any previous charges or any others. This was because we do not have proof that we cancelled our account or asked Auction Monster not to charge us. So August 20 we got another charge. Now I am on a mission to get my money back!! We sent another letter after failing to get them on the phone again. This time it was sent registered mail and a copy of the letter and postal receipt was sent by fax to our credit card company as they requested. This should ensure that all other charges will be refunded. This doesn't mean they won't stop trying! I have written this report and also contacted the Better Business Bureau in Delaware. Hopefully this will cover all our bases.

Success! Refunds!!

First I contacted here. Second my husband contacted his visa company and faxed the confirmation of delivery for the (3rd!) cancellation request. Then I contacted the Delaware BBB about them. So by doing all three of these I figured all our bases were covered. Well we just got an email from the Delaware BBB which included an email between them and Auction Monster:
"First of all I would like to apologize to...for the inconvenience this has caused him. In the terms and conditions it does mention a monthly hosting fee charge for his website we do apologize if he never received anything in the mail. He was also emailed the information. Since we do offer 100% satisfaction guarantee we will cancel his account at any time. Based upon his complaint it appears he would like to receive two months worth of refunds. We have honored this and actually refunded all of the charges made on his account. But in an effort to maintain good customer service and referral business.
Thank You"

Their version does not mention the other attempts at cancellation we did with them both over the phone and in writing (only the one the visa has a record of), states an email that we never received, and made it look like they were doing us a favour. But none of that matters now because they have refunded our visa for three transactions and our visa refunded the other one.
