    Corporate Advocacy Program
On my site, I sell books of all categories and titles, as an affiliate to several book publishers, wholesales and books sellers. I purchased from Mike Fields, of Better Visitors what was supposed to be a 6,000 targeted Visitors campaign program, (for $29.95) of people who are interested in purchasing books.

Of these 6,000 targeted visitors, I received close to 3,400 visitors to my site.
However, not one visitor made a purchase.

This led me to beleive that this business is a ripp off scheme, worked out somehow to supposedly make me think that these visitors were legit.

If I had indeed received 6,000 legit targeted book buying people, I am sure that according to the odds and statistics, I should have had at least some 35 to 50 sales. I therefore contacted Mike of Better Visitors, and complained of this fact and asked for my money back as I felt that I had been ripped off.

As I did not get a response on the first email, nor on the second one, I sent a third email again asking for my money back and threatened to report him to
a fraud alert. But he still did not reply.
Therefore, now I am sure that he is running a fraudulant rip off scheme and so am reporting him and his business to RipOff Report to alert the public of this person is running a fraudulant rip off business. And I hope that eventually he will receive a copy of this report and if he has any honesty at all, he will refund me my money.
I am advising him of this report.

Explanation

AUTHOR: Mike Fields - Houston (U.S.A.)

When a customer starts an order then abandons it, I always email them to find out what happened. Usually it's because they didn't understand something on the form. But in a case today, a customer pointed me to this report.

I searched our database and I can't find any record of the customer who filed the report, but I'd like to respond in any case.

We have a policy of responding to all emails within 24 hours, so finding out that three different emails weren't responded to at all sent me into a fury, as my staff can attest. But when we looked through our email, again we didn't find any record of the customer who filed this report. That may be because he used a pseudonym on this site, I don't know.

The person who filed the report said that he got 3400 of 6000 visitors promised. This suggests that he was a real customer, because this is a common issue due to Google Analytics, which substantially undercounts page views when that page is generated by a javascript call, as our are. We do popunders, like those Economist ads you see on the Washington Post site. This is a known problem with Analytics, and it infuriates not just ordinary business people like me, but professional SEO experts, like SEO Moz. See for instance http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-reliable-is-google-analytics. Actually, we usually send more than the contracted amount, just to try to blunt this misreporting.

Finally, the person who filed the report says that he received no sales. That's possible; our traffic doesn't work for everyone. But everyone knows that there's a lot to a sale. Sure, the traffic is part of it, but there are a lot of other factors too: copy and design of the web page, reliability of the payment processor, whether the site is slow, etc. etc. Also, it's not uncommon for customers to misspell the URL of their website, so traffic is sent to the wrong place. So, while this person didn't get any sales, lots of our customers do, and they like the price too.

I think it's important to have a forum like this to protect consumers from scam artists, and I'm grateful for the chance to respond when legitimate businesses like ours end up here.

Also, if the person who filed this report would care to identify himself, I'll happily refund him his money. In fact, we refund anyone who asks, and this guarantee is posted on our site. I've been at this too long, and have too many long-term customers, to risk the goodwill of our customers by doing anything other than treating our customers with the greatest respect.

Mike Fields,
CEO, BetterVisitors
