My computer is infected with viruses, this web site popped up so I committed to purchasing the program for 49.95 with a refund if I did not work. Well, it did not work so I have emailed them and they keep emailing me back with the same message. I just want a refund.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Regarding The 2009 Anti-Virus SCAM

AUTHOR: Don & Wanda Reed - Kingman (U.S.A.)

The 2009 Anti-Virus Is A SCAM My brother-in-law, had the same problem as you did quite a few months ago..Out of the blue that 'popup' appeared..Kept reappearing too..My brother-in-law (Bobby) didn't know what to do, so because I am pretty familiar with computers/internet I looked at his computer..The popup (2009 Anti-Virus) wanted to run a scan..I declined doing that, because I knew there was something wrong..Against my wishes, Bobby ran the scan, and the results showed hundreds of problems; serious problems, and wanted to be paid $49.95 to fix the problems..Well that just made the situation worse..The 2009 Anti-Virus installed itself..So I went into add/remove to try and uninstall it..Wouldn't work..No matter what I tried, it wouldn't remove..I had wondered if doing a complete 'restore' on his laptop might work, but then I thought if a 'trojan/virus/worm' whatever imbedded itself, doing a restore would not eliminate this type of serious problem..So I told Bobby, my guess was that he had a 'trojan' in his laptop, and to take it to Office Depot for them to look further into it..'Sure enough they told him that is exactly what happened'..Not only does this SCAM take your money but also installs a serious 'bug' to where as Bobby took his laptop into Office Depot, and they had to do a complete redo of his laptop..Costed Bobby almost $200's also..Office Depot told Bobby that his sister-in-law (myself) was 'exactly correct on her findings and suggestions'..Here is a suggestion my dad always planted into 'us kids' heads..'When In Doubt Bail Out!!'..Good Luck..Hope this was helpful to you and others that have or may experience this seriois SCAM..
