I sold three items on Ebay in November. I had not sold on ebay for a while. After listing the items they were sold then i received emails from paypal indicating that following ebay/paypal's new policy, they would be holding my payment for 21 days or until I sjipp the items. Firts of all, this was news to me, second..as a private seller I usually use the shipping cost which is included in the payment to ship items. This meant that I would have to come out of pocket first before i receive payment. OK, so i am looking on paypals site and they claim that this policy is to protect buyers and sellers. They would hold payment for 21 days or release sooner if they can verify the item was received or the user left positive feedback. I shipped the items. the first one was deleivered. I called paypal the next day and asked to have those funds released. they then claimed that it would take another 72 hours or positive feedback from the buyer before they release my payment. Upset, i asked to speak to a supervisor(Jula XXXX) who said the policy is clear in the security center. Who reads the security center daily?. Also the details of the transaction indicates that the money would be released if 1. they received positive feed back from the buyer or 2. they could verify the item was delivered. They verified the item was delivered and still refused to release the funds even after i pointed out that their site had information on it conflicting this 72 hour policy. SO now buyers can have your merchandise for up to 72 hrs, use it then file a dispute and get their money back..and you will be out of shipping money and ebay/paypal will do nothing to help you!

STay away from ebay/paypal...they are a scourge !
