I was contacted by Linda J Arruda about an employment ad I posted for a telemarketer to set appointments for sales. After a short conversation we agreed she would call for us 20 hours a week and be paid at the conclusion of each week, pending receipt of hard copy documentation of her work.

Long story short - Linda Arruda set about 8 appointments over about 25 hours (a horribly poor performance level), and after the first 3 of them were no-shows, we started looking closer. None of these people who these appointments were supposedly set with knew anything about Linda Arruda and claimed to have never been contacted by anyone at all.

When I asked Linda again for documentation and/or clarification, she stalled once again - claiming she needed money for her cable bills and Christmas or she would lose her internet access and thus her ability to complete the work. Reluctantly we advanced her more money.

The very next appointment was a no-show, and when we questioned her about it she promptly "quit" the job with a series of ridiculous excuses. She refused to return the advance or deliver any documentation so we're now forced to chargeback the payments made to her.

This is a fairly typical remote-freelancer MO. They apply with impressive resumes, come out of the gate swinging.... then they get their crack money and turn into total flakes. Anyone out there considering hiring Linda J Arruda on Dracut MA, you've been warned. Feel free to contact me for more details, I'll be happy to provide them.

Here's a copy of her resume used to apply for the job. She also uses 3 different email addresses, presumably to cover her tracks when jumping from pay advance to pay advance and ripping off employers.

Support/ MTC Recovery 2009/to 10/2011. Sets appointments for the sales rep.Sets

Appointments for different programs, depending on the campaign. Works off a lead sheet.

Also does cold calling through a Google search. Puts info into data sheet. Does follow-ups

with new Customers. Qualifies sales leads Sends out info to potential Clients. Has gone

out on some Appointments with sales rep. Also Processes Incoming calls and Verifies into

computer Uses Word, Excel, the Internet, Outlook and Sales Force.com. Also has used Mojo

Sales Engine . Some knowledge of software sales as well. Has knowledge of Google docs.

Gorman Insurance and Mortgage Co. 2000-2009 sales Rep. Does cold calling as well over the phone and via internet. Follows-up with

the customer. Put data into a computer. Uses Word , Excel, and Sales Force. Has over 10 years

experience in this field. Has also closed some sales. Has been working at home for over 2 years.

Telemarketer/ Inside Sales/Appt. setter /closer

Calls on customers to introduce our products. Sets Appointments with the

Also worked Part time for ADT Alarms in Lowell, Ma. Set appointments to go out and give
residential customers as well as small business owners a free demo on the alarm system.
Was voted Inside Sales/Telemarketer of the month. Has over 10 years Experience in this
field.

this guy has already paid me twice since I started for him. i set an appointment for him and the person said he never heard of me. well thats a lie, and he called me a liar!. but yet I am such a rip off artist, that he had no problem paying me the 1st week i worked for him. its when he did not believe me that i resigned from working for him, then he tries to take back money That I worked for , and that he sent me on dec. 22nd, but even Paypal does not believe him and puts the money back in my account   dont listen to this person at all

I'm not at all surprised that Linda would post something as lame as this excuse on here since she really has nothing to rebut. The payment processor reversed the dispute simply because they don't offer protection regarding digital goods and/or services. It doesn't mean that Linda isn't a lying thief, it just means she succeeded at taking our money and running with it. We plan to take her to small claims court to recover the money - not because we really need the money, but because I think people like this should be made an example of and prevented from scamming others in such a blatant and transparent manner.
