real gold soft Extorted $99.90 to allow access to internet THEY were blocking ! Internet

Sunday evening my computer went haywire. It was ignoring me and going to strange, random websites. Then the "Control Center" page popped up, saying my computer had a virus and it would cost $59.99 for 1 year or 89.99 for a lifetime(?).

Unsuccessfully trying to get rid of the "Control Center " screen, it seemed my only choice was to pay. I paid the $59.99, which somehow turned into $99.90. They gave me a registration number, but there was no place to apply it.

I then tried to call them in Monday at the number they had listed, but got a strange message that led me to believe the number was disconnected. Oddly, I called today, and got an answer. I said I want a refund, and the clerk did not even ask why. He said it will be returned within 10 days, but I will dispute it as well.

I get the feeling that these people get away with this because people get their money back IF they ask for it. What about the poor suckers who are less conscientious ?
