I read a report on MSNBC about the eBook scam. So I decided to check my credit card statements. Sure enough -- this one showed up on one of my credit cards. I tried calling the number (long distance -- no 800 number) and only received and answering machine.

I filed an online dispute with my credit card -- debating on whether I should cancel the card and get a new number. The thing that really ticks me off is that this credit card company pestered me for 4 days straight calling every hour on the hour to try to get me to buy a fraud-prevention service. Why should I be buying a fraud-prevention service when that is something the credit cards should be providing as a matter of course!

I swear sometimes I think the credit card companies are the ones leaking all the numbers just so they can feed off our fear and sell more services.
