My daughter is an avid runescape player and asked that I purchase an advanced account for her. She found www.usfine.com advertised on google as a company selling runescape accounts. I did not see that this company had multiple scam warning listed on google http://www.ripoffreport.com/internet/usfine-com/usfine-com-tried-to-scam-me-in-2978c.htm as well as the ripoff report.
After making a purchase through Western Union $205.00, usfine assured us that they would promptly give us an account. They immediately claimed that the transaction did not go through and asked that I give them my credit card information so they could refund my transaction amount. To my surprise, they began running up multiple charges on my credit card $475.00 and $5990.00. I immediately contacted both usfine as well as my credit card company and western union. Western Union verified that usfine had received the monies, MasterCard opened a dispute for the unauthorized charges. www.usfine.com did not respond. They did send an email stating that they were looking into the situation.
On the advice of my credit card company, I contacted my local authorities who put me in touch with the US Attorney's office who said that they were currently investigating usfine for other similar violations. According to the US attorney's office, this is one of many scam sites that claim to be in the USA but are actually running out of China. I have been asked to supply all of the information as they are moving forward to try and shut this and other similar Internet frauds down. Buyer Beware!!! This is a full fledged rip off of epic proportions.
