A few days before christmas I purchased an iCardGiftCard (which is redeemable, theoretically, at their website for gift cards of many merchants). I saved the gift card so I could print it later. When I logged into my account again, it was gone. There was no record of any transaction (despite the emails I had received from them). An email and call to customer service later, I found out that they had never actually issued me the card. They decided that because I had a typo in my address that I was being fraudulent and that I shouldn't get a card. They said that in such cases, your credit card will not be charged.

So, undeterred (on christmas day!) I made my second attempt, got my address completely right. Everything went through and my card was charged that day. Christmas went well, all is good. Three days later, unannounced the gift card becomes invalid and the credit is returned. These jerks don't know how to accept money. Or I guess they don't know how to keep money. WTF?

Just got off the phone with a very well-meaning and kind customer service rep. She stated "Risk Management retracts so many of these that there's no way we could notify each person". Their corporate attitude is basically:

'we do so much business that the loss of your business doesn't matter to us. So what if it screws up your holiday plans or makes you look like a jackass. So what if you give somebody a gift card and it's invalid. We as an organization don't care!'

Don't trust these guys to deliver on their promise.

If you already got burned there's only one way to send these jerks a message they'll understand:
Go after their merchants. Tell them your terrible experience and ask them why they work with such a careless organization?
