Comcast was my provider for internet, cable, and phone. I was paying for a bundle package in the amount of $114 a mth. But they were charging me 50 extra a mth. for the digital boxes and sports package, that I could get all included in the price at dish network. So I contacted them and they told me that the double play package is $52.90 so I went with the dish thinking I would be saving money. Guess what, NO I AM NOT they told me because I am an existing customer that I can not get the double play deal at $52.90 WHAT? I have been a customer for 4 years and they want to charge me $90 a mth. for internet and phone services. I can not believe it that they want to charge me that much as an existing customer this is the treatment

I get for being a loyal 4 year customer to them and I have been paying almost 200 monthly bills to them. I was furious about this when you contact them you get so many different answers from all there employees that seem to be not trained very well. I just can't believe they would rather lose my business than give me a good rate to stay with them. Comcast sucks! The internet goes out all the time and runs like dial up at times. It is the worst internet I have ever had in my 33 years of life. I refuse to deal with their nickle and dimming me any more. I canceled my services to them and told them I will do everything in my power not to have them as my provider for anything ever again.

Anyone interested in saving money do not sign up with them without doing your homework first because once you are a customer of theirs they no longer care about you. They just want to suck you in and then charge you for everything!

They rip you off in Tennessee too

AUTHOR: Lisa - Mount Juliet (U.S.A.)

Keep in mind Comcast only offers you a deal to draw you in to their high-price-poor-service TV & internet service. Every time I call with a problem they try to sign me up for their phone service, which is more expensive than what I have, and read the fine print it is only for unlimited LOCAL calls.

I have been a Comcast customer for 15 years, to lazy to go to the trouble of changing, and "upgraded" to digital when it came out. I am on my 4th cable box, second one with DVR since switching to digital. It pixelates and cuts out frequently, sometimes the box resets itself and you loose your recordings. Again, I have no one but myself to blame for not changing.

I spent enough on my home computer in 'repairs' that the comcast service dept. said I needed to have purchased 2 additional computers. Finally after almost a year of unnecessary repairs and upgrades to my computer a gentleman who came to look at the problem again noticed I had 2 Cable lines coming into my home and the signal was jumping between the 2 lines. All of the repairs and upgrades were unnecessary, but comcast DID mail me a coupon for a free PPV movie for all my trouble. WOW!

The internet works fairly well most of the time when it isn't down. It does frequently move like dial up. The digital still pixelates. And when you call customer service 7 out of 10 will be rude. What happened to customer service???

Yep, Comcast will suffer when the competition comes out.

AUTHOR: Leamaria - Chattanooga (U.S.A.)

I can completely relate to the Comcast crap. The customer service is awful; most will tell you what you want to hear just to shut you up. They lie and have been trained to ward off the blows because of the bad ethical standards of the company as a whole. I have even had one customer service individual tell me one thing, while another tells me something different and complete opposite of the last.

I too have had a lot of problems with the pixilation and having to reset the box because it won't load the on-demand services. Take channel 12 GPB, that channel was messed up for about 6 months before anyone did anything about it. A few weeks ago I tried to tune into that channel and there was a box that said “this is a paid service channel, call Comcast for ordering” huh? Since when does a public broadcasting channel charge to watch?

I tried the stupid idiots at the live chat section and they said why yes it is now a paid station and that's all I can tell you, what the!!! I called Comcast and after the usual lengthy wait, they said no it wasn't supposed to be that way and that they were working on it. About a week later it was back to normal.

Trying to reach someone within Comcast that will actually help you without lying has been very frustrating, they all hide behind that stupid so called live chat and a phone number that only goes to customer service, what good is that?
I was actually stupid enough to write to that Rick Germano guy thinking someone really gave two sh*ts. I got a call back from Kim Roberts who didn't have a clue what was in the e-mail I sent...then she said oh, well let me get back to you and I never heard a word from anyone.

Unfortunately, we have had 4 instances of a neighbor stealing our cable (we caught them 2 times up the pole) and they got away with 4 times on my money. Comcast does nothing about cable theft; however, they will come back out and hook the thieves up legally if said thieves are willing to pay for the services, it's a crock of poop! Listed below is their useless theft policy:

What is theft of service?
It is the unauthorized interception and/or receipt of any communications service offered over a cable system without the consent of the cable operator. Cable theft usually occurs when an individual knowingly and willfully makes illegal physical connections to a cable system or alters (or installs) any unauthorized equipment so that the cable signal can be received without the authorization or knowledge of a cable operator.
Any unauthorized person who intercepts or receives communications provided over a cable system may be penalized under the Cable Communication Policy Act of 1984 [47 C.F.R. 553(c)]. This includes the theft of audio, video, textual data, and any other service. The law applies to manufacturers and distributors of equipment as well as to individuals. Parties found guilty of cable theft are subject to both civil and criminal penalties, which may include substantial fines and/or time in prison. If you know someone who is receiving cable service illegally, please contact us and let us know. <
I said to my husband; well if they do nothing then maybe we should start receiving service for free too…how well do you climb;)

All I can say is look out Comcast, when EPB (our electric company) gets their fiber optics up and running (soon), I will be first in line along with 100's others that I know. Comcast will meet their maker someday just like all other companies that cheat and lie to good standing customers. They have become too big for their britches, which has made them greedy and unethical.
