On December 13, 2010 i recieved a flyer in the mail about the Goverment Recovery Act sposered through HughesNet. I contacted them and set up service with them. When it was set up i signed up for the basic plan which is 40.00 a month. I was susposed to get 200mbs of downloads a day. Come to find out that means opening web pages not actually downloading things!!! When the service became really slow I called to complain only to be told I had exceded my Fair Acess Policy limits. After pitching a fit they removed me from the "fap" for the time being. I asked how I had exceded it and thats when I found out that all I could do is surff the web. So I stopped doing anything except checking email, facebook, and chatting on facebook and yahoo messanger. Well its still slow as all can be. I cant load more that one page at a time, chat freezes up, pages wont load right, ect. When I called to see what we could work out about getting the speed and download limits upgraded I was infromed that I couldnt change anything unless I signed a 2 year contract. Now why would I want to sign a contract for something that I already hate and have only had it a month?
Then I recieved a bill from them yesterday for 46.00 which is 6.00 more that its was susposed to be. Well this morning i checked my balance on my debit card and the money has been debited, i was supsosed to be notified before they took any money off so that i wouldnt have overdrafts but they didnt do it. I called the corporate office just a little bit ago and the guy almost made me cry... i have never been made feel so stupid in my life and i know A LOT about computers. Every time i brought up a issue that I had with the company he had a new excuse... At one point he actually said "we are a company and we are out to make money!!!!" thats when i lost it cursed him out and hung up the phone. I am currently looking into dial up cause its cheaper and probably just as fast as the junk im paying almost 50.00 a month for! I really wish i could figure out how to contact the government to tell them that they are ripping innocent people off.
