America On Line - AOL Checking Account Robbery Dulles Virginia

For almost 3 years I have had AOL and my internet provider. The second year was really not by choose. They said someone in my household elected to have my account be paid yearly, so they took almost $340.00 from my checking account. This was last year. Since they had already removed the funds from my account, I told them that I would go ahead and keep the account.

Early this year I received an E-Mail from their billing department stating that I had until April 4, 2004 to elect weather I wanted to continue service on a monthly basis or have the whole year payment made at once. On March 25, 2004 this company took it on themselves to deduct $244.00 from my checking account again. On March 26, 2004, I called them and canceled my account at which time their Rep. was extremely rude her employee number was 475696 and she worked at their Jacksonville, FL center. She did tell me that I would receive my money back on April 13, 2004, and would have to pay for this complete billing cycle. To date I have not received my money. I called today and now they are telling me I may receive my a portion of my money within about 7 to 14 days, (It May take longer).

This company is a Rip-off from the start. I have never heard of a company that would take money from someone's account without that person's premission and then not give them back a refund after finding out that their services are not wanted. This has let me know that AOL is not a respectable company and does not value it's customers. I will be reporting them to the better business bureau and any one else who would like to know about the crooks at AOL.
