My encounter with Callwave ..just another scam

I joined Callwave about two years ago or less. I got the "fixed call forwarding on busy" through my phone service for 75 cents a month. I find it very useful.
In 2001, around June or July, they told me that they couldn't offer free service and wanted me to start paying. I told them I couldn't afford to pay and promptly deleted their software from my computer. Later, they said that if I couldn't afford it, that they could let me have it for free. All I had to do is tell them my story. I applied and received totally free callwave which I'm still using. The scam is probably real since they would rather have me use it for free rather than not use it at all, but they DID try to get money from me. I'm sure they make their profit from the ads they show. I've clicked on a few of them. I think they were just trying to make some extra cash.
I would suggest that anyone contacted and was told they would have to pay, to just tell them you can't afford it, then wait and see, like I did. Otherwise dump them.
