I work from home. My employer provides my high-speed internet service (Charter). My internet went down on a Thursday. It was not repaired until the following Tuesday. I lost 2 days of work. I sent a letter to Charter Billing department explaining this and letting them know the money I lost due to not being able to work.

I filed for unemployment and was denied because they stated I was "Unavailable for work."  I was only unavailable because Charter couldn't figure out what the problem was.  They will not reimburse me for my 2 days of missed pay. I feel since it is their internet service, and I had to wait so long to have it repaired, they should pay me for my lost time.

AUTHOR: Umatter2charter - Town and Country (U.S.A.)

Hello Cynthia,

My name is Josh Chapman and I am a Communications Specialist with Charter Communications. I apologize for the downtime you experienced with your Residential Internet Service. I can ensure that your account is credited for the time the service was unavailable. Since this is a subscription to Residential Internet Service, I am unable to provide reimbursement for wages and/or lost time from work. I can put you in touch with our Business Service Department who can work with you to set up a Business Service account, which may better suit your needs. Our Business Service has different types of contracts available that include reimbursement clauses for lost work time due to service problems and outages. I would like the chance to discuss this with you further. Please send an email with your Name, Address, and the Phone number associated with the account to umatter2charter@chartercom.com with my name, Josh, in the subject line. I look forward to working with you to resolve this problem.

Thank you,

Josh
