Clearwire offers to reduce your monthly rate to $19.99 but then they extend your contract for another year. If you want to cancel the contract before the year is up they charge $180. cancellation fee. They say just by accepting the lower rate you accepted the cancellation fee. I know I was not told about a cancellation fee. When I asked for some proof that I was told they just say it says so in a note here.

I moved to Florida and the service I had wasn't very good but they didn't even offer to transfer the service. They CLEARLY won't get referrals or repeat business.

AUTHOR: Biggest loser - Anchorage (U.S.A.)

After filing the report on Clearwire I was contacted by a supervisor and I explained my refusal to pay the $180 cancellation fee. I let her know that it certainly would ensure that I never used them again and I would be sharing my experience with everyone, including Ripoff Report and some radio Personality shows.

She was very kind and decided she would waive the fee. So I suggest you always ask for a supervisor who can waive the fee and be nice about your request. It works. They will back down on that fee.
