I allowed my daughter to subscribe to Neopets.com premium website service. As she is now 19 years old and no longer uses the sight I have been trying to cancel the premium service for 3 months now.

You are given NO information on their website on how to cancel the service ANYWHERE! I have tried the online live chat only to be told to call their toll-free number. I chatted with "Fernando" who told me to call the toll-free number press "1" on the main menu, then "1" again. This option only gives you information directed back to the Neopets website.

After trying several other options I was finally told I would be given to a customer service representative. After holding on the line for more than 30 minutes on at least 3 ocassions I gave up!

I have also tried to e-mail Neopets, to which I am receiving no response. I have contacted the Los Angeles Better Business Bureau and Neopets legal department.
I wonder just how many teenagers out there have a problem with trying to unscribe to this website.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Last resort for cancelling such memberships

AUTHOR: Nick - Glendale (U.S.A.)

Dear consumer:

Upon reading your dilemna, I have a suggestion as a last resort.

I am sure that they debit a credit card or your bank account for the membership fees. All you need to do is call that card or bank and stop the automatic withdrawal.

The bank might give you some reasons not to such as the company may sue or come after you. You should gladly agree, because there is no way this company, based on the way they operate, will come after you.

Do be afraid and stand up for yourself.

Good Luck.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

It is not impossible to cancel..

AUTHOR: Anonymous - Fall River (U.S.A.)

This is the reason why people should read up before signing up. Neopets Premium makes it VERY clear on how to cancel their services on the MAIN PREMIUM PAGE. http://premium.neopets.com/ right under the sign in it states:

Support Hotlines
U.S. TOLL FREE: 1.877.NEOPIAN
International: (1) 310.321.6712

#3 Consumer Suggestion

You just need to know where to look...

AUTHOR: Talya - (United States of America)

To be more concise:

Call 1-877-636-7426

I was asked for the following information:

-The first and last name of the card holder
-The complete billing address
-The reason for cancellation

That is all.  The representative told me how long my premium service would last (how many days until the end of this billing cycle), and that my card would not be charged again.

Now I will admit to having some difficulty finding the phone number at first, but it is ALL over your premium account.  It can be found at the bottom of the Neopets Portal, AND at the bottom of the Neomail email service.  Now if you don't remember the billing address- then I HOPE you saved the welcome email that was sent to the neomail account when you first signed up.  That has all the information you need.
