I have a small web site business for over 10 years. I have always used PayPal  that I am very satisfied with. Several of my customers stated that they would rather give me their credit card information so I decided to add this form of payment.

I filled out an application with charge.com and it looked like going through the process there was no hidden fees and it would be very reasonable.  I was approved but decided not to use their company and never implemented charge.com on my web site. Checking my bank account I saw transactions that we not approved by me a 8888300555 PCI FEE ID: $185.00 fee from Pipeline Data (who are they),  COLLECTION AMERICAN EXPRES $7.95, BKCRD FEES MERCH SVC$ -54.95.  There is no direct contact other than filling out an email on line to the company which I did stating I want to close the account because I never used it and did not intend to ever use it. I also wanted the transaction fees refunded to me.

The next day I received a call from a man from charge.com stating that I signed a contract that listed all these fees and if I want to terminate the agreement that the cancellation would cost $450.00. I told him that they were using my checking account fraudulently and I would close my account. He said they would file a report to all the credit reporting agencies stating I had defaulted. Later that day he sent me an email with a PDF attached of the agreement.

Charge.com used deceptive tactics that are totally misleading. The so -called agreement was not even readable and never mentioned all these fess.  I would have never agreed signing with them if this was clear!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

File a complaint with the BBB and Division of Consumer Affairs

AUTHOR: Mark - (United States of America)

 Hi,

Charge.com stole from me exactly the same way.  I was researching merchant accounts for online credit card processing and did a google search. Bad move on my part.

I filed a report with the BBB and after 2 rebuttals from this scammy company the BBB closed the case and listed as customer unsatisfied.

So, now I have a letter in the mail to the Division of Consumer Affairs and suggest you do the same.  The more complaints the stronger our case.
