I am also a victim of Ning. I created my social network which I believed was MY social network as advertised. During the past few years I've watched the company reverse all of their promises and selling points.

My social network is really THEIR social network.

Ning will police your site and remove content or the entire site as they see fit

Ning will allow massive amounts of spam from competing social networks built on the platform

Ning does not allow me access to any of my own websites files anymore. They locked down all access to the source code, php files. I cant even access my sitemap anymore!

Ning developed Ning.com which is a competing social network. built with members it "Borrows" from everyone using their platform

Contrary to their claims, you can NOT leave Ning without losing all of your websites important data. The company will give you a .csv file with your member list and email adresses...thats it..all the photos, videos, friends, blogs, discussions stay with ning..forever.

I pay premium fees to remove all ning promotional links yet they remain and have increased in my time with them.

I have lost over $30,000 building what i thought was my social network, as advertised. I've also wasted hundreds of hours developing my site. I can not believe that there isnt a class action lawsuit against them yet.
