Beware of this employment scam. These people are very professional and seem like a legit company. They are mostly posting for opportunity for employment on Craigslist and will send you and email from the address recruit.dept@eaglescomputers.com. Someone will email you back saying that you are qualified and ask you to download yahoo messenger to add someone who will then conduct and ‘online interview’. The address belonging to CHARLES BALDWIN, the supposed ‘HR Manager’, will ask a series of interview questions, ask you to hold and then tell you that you have been hired. He will ask for all your information and even provide a phone number for you to call him to ‘verify’ your identity. When you call, he does not ask for any personal information, he just asks for your name and hangs up the phone. He will tell you that it is company policy that they do not speak to employees. He will send you an assignment asking for a 1000 word essay and an estimate of the cost to set up your phone line. They will ask for your banking information if you bank with RBC or send a ‘cheque’ if you don’t. this is all a scam, made to look and appear professional. This scumbag even forges the email citing, that it is on behalf of the actual company VP and even quote the link to their website. On the website you can find more information about this scam. I recommend you do not give any personal information to this person, I don’t know what they will do with it.
