I JUST PURCHASED A $10,000 LOOSE DIAMOND AND ANNIVERSARY BAND SET ON CHRISTMAS EVE 2006... I HAVE READ ALL PAPERWORK AND DOCUMENTATION STATING 30 DAY REFUND FOR ANY REASON... THERE ARE NO STIPULATIONS AS FAR AS THAT NOT BEING POSSIBLE IF I HAD A TRADE IN OR IF I HAD A SPECIAL ORDER, WHICH IN MY CASE I DID TRADE IN MY OLD RING, AND THEY DID KIND OF SPECIAL ORDER IT...

SO TODAY, LESS THAN 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT IT AND STILL CONSIDERED TO BE IN THE 30 DAY REFUND FOR ANY REASON OBVIOUSLY... I CALLED THE STORE AND WAS INFORMED THE MANAGER WAS OFF UNTIL MONDAY, SO I HAD SPOKEN WITH A SALESPERSON WHO HAS WORKED THERE FOR AWHILE AND KNOWS EXACTLY WHO I AM AND REMEMBERS ME FROM HER SALE OF A MOVADO WATCH THAT I JUST BOUGHT A MONTH AGO FROM HER...

WELL TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, SHE TOLD ME THAT THE 30 DAY REFUND DOES NOT APPLY TO JEWELRY THAT HAD A TRADE IN OR IF IT WAS A SPECIAL ORDER... SHE CLAIMED THAT WAS THEIR POLICY AND THAT ONCE THE TRADE IN IS SENT TO THE MAINLAND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT... I THINK THIS IS A CROCK OF SHIT AND I INFORMED HER THAT I THOUROGHLY READ ALL RECEIPTS AND THE LIFETIME DIAMOND COMMITMENT WARRANTY PACKET AND IT JUST SAYS THAT....

WITHIN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASE, YOU MAY RETURN YOUR ZALES DIAMOND FOR ANY REASON.

I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF SUCH A POLICY NOR DID I SIGN ANY KIND OF PAPERWORK REGARDING THIS INFORMATION... DOES IT ANYWHERE SAY THAT IT DOESNT APPLY TO SPECIAL ORDERS OR IF YOU TRADED IN SOME OTHER TYPE OF JEWELRY? I AM CURRENTLY AWAITING A PHONE CALL FROM THE MANAGER OF THE STORE AND WILL TRY AND CONTACT THE CORPORATE OFFICE REGARDING THIS!

Boy Does That Bring Back Memories

Reminds me of my old zales days, 20 some odd years ago. Use to have dozens of people buy jewelry, right before the holidays, wear it to all their Christmas and New Years parties and then bring right after the New Year. Had a couple of the same ladies, do it every year, for the 3 Christmases I worked there. They always charged it so they didn't have to come up with any money and made sure they returned it before their first billing cycle. Wasn't anything you could do about it other then no one wanted to sell to them and take the return on the next paycheck. You stated you bought a loose diamond. Did they have to mount it and size or did you take it as is?

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE LADIES WHO PURCHASE A BIG FANCY EXPENSIVE DIAMOND RING WITH THE INTENTION TO JUST WEAR IT TO SHOW OFF AT CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS PARTIES THEN GO BACK TO ZALES AND RETURN IT BEFORE IT GETS BILLED ONTO MY CREDIT CARD AND SO FORTH... I PAID WITH A PERSONAL CHECK THAT HAS MORE THAN 40 GRAND IN IT AND IT HAS BEEN CLEARED FROM THE BANK ALREADY. I AM NOT TRYING TO BRAG OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT BUT I DEFINITELY DID NOT PURCHASE THE RING JUST TO SHOW OFF AT A PARTY.

I PURCHASED A 2 CARAT ANNIVERSARY BAND THAT WAS ORIGINALLY PRICED $5000 BUT WAS ON SALE FOR $3000 AND THEN I PURCHASED A 1.26 CARAT LOOSE DIAMOND H VS2 FOR $10,155 THERE AT THE STORE ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND HAD THE LOOSE DIAMOND MOUNTED INTO THE ANNIVERSARY BAND. IT DID NOT NEED RESIZING, YET I KNOW THEY DID A LOT TO HAVE IT MOUNTED AND DONE THAT DAY FOR ME.

I DO FEEL BAD ABOUT HAVING TO RETURN THE RING BEING THAT THE SALESPERSON WAS VERY NICE AND THE LOOSE DIAMOND DEALER GUY WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE THE RING. THE BRUTALLY HONEST TRUTH ABOUT THIS WHOLE ORDEAL IS... I PAID WAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR WHAT I GOT... I WENT THROUGH A WHOLE OTHER REPUTABLE DIAMOND SPECIALIST/ DEALER INSTEAD AND I ENDED UP PAYING $5,000 MORE THAN I PAID AT ZALES BUT I AM GETTING A 2.26 CARAT PRINCESS CUT DIAMOND F SI1 WITH A 1 CARAT ANNIVERSARY BAND SET WITH ALL PRINCESS CUT DIAMONDS IN THAT TOO! AND NO... IT IS NOT CLARITY ENHANCED OR ANYTHING.

I DO REALIZE THAT IT IS NOT A VS2, BUT THE WAY IT WAS MOUNTED, THE INCLUSION IS WHERE IT WASNT EVEN THAT NOTICABLE AT ALL! THE DIAMONDS IN THE ANNIVERSARY BAND COMPARED TO THE ONES THAT WERE IN THE ANNIVERSARY BAND AT ZALES IS MUCH BETTER QUALITY NO DOUBT! PLUS IT IS PRINCESS CUT DIAMONDS! IF I ENDED UP GETTING AN EXACT ROUND DIAMOND 1.26 CARAT H VS2 AT THAT SAME DIAMOND STORE... I WOULD HAVE SAVED AT LEAST $2500. THAT IS NO LIE.
