Yes, they promise you the world in the event something happens - even BEFORE it happens, such as your watch being broken right in front of your eyes.
Here are words of wisdom - tell them that if they do not return your watch to you (immediately) that you will report it to the police as stolen. If they do not return your watch to you - then go to the police and report it stolen. When and if you get your watch back, walk out the door and NEVER return to Zales for ANY kind of repair again.
Make sure you give this same advice to anyone who's made the mistake of sending ANYTHING through them for a "repair" or any other reason of ANY kind.
NEVER NEVER NEVER allow this company to keep, hold, send off, size, alter or anything else involving your jewelry - regardless of whether or not you've purchased it at a ZALES store or not- it does not matter.
Realize that even if you've got all the documentation in the world, signed receipts and contracts - that they won't necessarily honor those - even though a receipt WILL hold up in a court of law as a contract ;)
My last piece of advice to you is this - read every single complaint on this board and realize that you're the latest victim of their playbook.
Make sure it doesn't happen to anyone you know.
