I ordered three All-Clad pans with this company. They were a cassoulet, stir fry pan and a pasta pentola totaled $350. I received an email from them stating that the cassoulet and the pentola were on back order but will be available in a week. I told them that I can wait until then so don't cancel the order. However, to my surprise, they emailed me the next day to inform me that all three pans had been shipped. I was suspicious about the unexpected availability of the pans but waited patiently for the arrival of the shipment. After several days, when I received the package in the evening after work, I inspected the pans and realized that the cassoulet and the stir fry pans had obvious defects with the handles. I showed them to my wife and we both agreed that the handles on both pans were defective. There were large gaps between the handles and the pans. The gaps were not supposed to be there. I owned All-Clad cookware so I knew they were not supposed to be like that. I checked the handles on the pasta pentola and didn't find the same defect. The next day I contacted Chef's Resource to get a return shipping label and an RMA. The guy on the phone immediately knew which pans had the defective handles without me telling him. That told me that these guys purposely sell defective products to their customers. He told me to pay for return shipping. When they receive the items and agree with my disatisfaction, they will refund me the money including shipping cost. So I paid for return shipping and waited for my refund. After I was notified that the package was delivered, I contacted Chef's resource and they told me there was nothing wrong with the pans. they refused to refund the return shipping cost they promised on the phone. I was extremely angry but there was nothing I could do. Then I thought about the pasta pentola and asked myself whether it had some kind of defects also. So I took it out of the box again and inspected more closely when I saw 2 indentations inside the pan. Like last time, I had to pay for return shipping. But unlike last time, these bastards didn't even give me a full refund. They charged me shipping cost eventhough it was free. Never will I deal with these crooks again. I want to make sure everybody knows about the scams going on at this company. They advertised high end cookware but infact they're all defective or refurbished. If you buy from them, you will be wasting a lot of time and shipping money.

Pans weren't defective

AUTHOR: chefsresource.com - Laguna Hills (USA)

Her claims are factually incorrect.  We only sell first quality high end cookware direct from the manufacturer.  This is no different than any other high end cookware chain or department store, our cookware (in this case All-Clad) comes directly from All-Clad.  We don't sell seconds, returns or anything knowingly defective ever.  The claim that one of our customer service people knew the items was defective and that we purposely sell defective products is absolute nonsense and not backed up by our call recordings.

We have no problem with picking up defective products at our expense, but what she indicated and returned wasn't a defect.  We checked the pans out very carefully, both the warehouse manager and the owner.  No replacement was desired, it appeared to be a change of heart only from a customer who had already sent back products that also weren't defective.

We've been online for 10 years as of the time of this writing (2009) and have good reviews and an excellent BBB record.  This report is just flat out false and unfortunate.
