Apartment Buying Nightmare From Vegaelx Spain

 

I bought an Apartment from Vegaelx in September2008 in the town of Albatera.The Apartment Complex was Edifico Vanguardia.The Rep was Kevin Kelly who was the Commercial Sales Manager at the time. By that Christmas when the mortgage was going through, he left the company and I was assigned the new Sales Manager – Katy Price! Real Name Catherine Janet Price   Husband : Nicolas Price

That’s when things started to go downhill!

 

I waited another 4 months before I finally got the mortgage. I had to transfer 12,000 Euro to get the mortgage. Finally i owned the apartment. Then I had to get a Furniture Package! Of course Katy Price was very helpful, I thought! To my dismay! She said that she would get the furniture Pack from the Local Ikea Store; I just had to send the deposit of 1,900 Euro to start the order. A month later she told me that I needed to pay the balance, as they would not deliver until that was paid and that it didn’t include white goods or a TV and electrical appliances. So had to pay another 2,600.As it was flat packed she said she would store it in her Garage and assemble it at the apartment when she got help. She was also going to let the apartment out for me. I was in debt of 4,500 Euro, which I had put on my credit cards and sent the money through Western Union! Something I will never do again, unless it’s a family member. You don’t have any paper trail with them!

 

I thought everything was going good, How wrong I was?

She mentioned that she had left Vegaelx but I was not to worry as she had contacts and was renting out a number of apartments for people. As I had not collected the keys to the Apartment I authorized Katy Price to collect them from the Lawyers, She took the whole set of keys! And I was about to find out why!

After several attempts to make contact with her, I was getting excuses that the contracts were slow going through. Then I contacted Vegaelx direct and they said she was gone back to England as her Sister wasn’t well. This was near Christmas at this stage so I didn’t get definite contact until the New Year.

And she was giving the same old story. I realized then that it all sounded dodgy. I went back to Vegaelx and enquired if they would visit the apartment to check was their tenants there, and that Katy had got the deposit off them and done a runner. Which I would have had tenants with no contract! Another nightmare.

  Phone : 0034 661 985852 and 0034 664452223 said she could not gain access to the Apartment as Katy had taken all the keys! And if i wanted her to get involved I would have to sign a one years rental contract at a cost of 800 Euro. She then had to get a locksmith to open the door and replace the locks at a cost of 200 euro. And when the Apartment door was opened! There was nothing in the Apartment! I had been taken for a ride and had lost 4,500 Euro to Catherine Janet Price!

 

So Gayle Hickling said she would get me a Furniture package for a good price, In league with her husband Davin Hickling who also worked at Vegaelx and Tracey Lister and Markus Brall who were running another apartment rental service whom she also worked for.

The cost of this Furniture Package was 4,500 and would be of excellent quality and was a turnkey package, fully rental ready.

I decided to make plans to holiday in the apartment with my Girlfriend and to see the finished product. When we got to the town of Albatera Gayle said she had to pick up someone from the airport and couldn’t stay to show us around the apartment. I got the keys off her and went to see my apartment done finally! We got in to see there was furniture there at least, but not of the quality I expected! Their was no brand name white goods,the Beds were of Prison quality! No bed sheets were provided only a throw over the beds,No shower curtain or Towels! the kitchen table and chairs were rubbish! Even the sofa was a cheap white linen covered lump.And the apartment was filthy from the workmen that had been there.And I was about to spend a week there with my girlfriend! We spent the first night trying to clean the apartment! And I had to go out the next day and buy sheets and shower curtains and a rail! Of course ringing Gayle was of no use! She replied by Text saying she would pass on my complaint to Tracey Lister and Markus Brall! I would say that the package cost about half the amount I paid,So I lost another 2000 Euro and the 1000 for the rental contract and new locks.3,000 Euro down and the Rental contract I received off Gayle was not worth the paper it was written on!I went to the Vegaelx office to demand my money back for their rental fee,but they denied that Gayle Hickling worked for them!They must do their recruiting from the local rip off merchants agency!

  I fortunately made contact with a reputatable agency in Albatera town before going home,but with the current economic situation.Renting out my apartment would be a problem.

I returned home knowing that my Apartment would be empty for the foreseable future.

So I can really sympathise with your circumstances,I can only be grateful that Gayle and Davin Hickling and Tracey Lister and Markus Brall went on the run before they could have rented out my apartment and made my problems worse than they have been!

I would recommend anyone not to buy from Vegaelx ever! I should have bought in Almoradi instead of the dead end town of Albatera ,maybe my story would have been different then!
