This person that I am about to speak on needs to be prosecuted for embezzlement. He abuses all of his tenants after they leave and he is located in the largest rental market, San Francisco. I advise any person who desires an apartment to not rent from this man, Mayer Saketkhou. I believe there is another report from a man from Atlanta that states that he bought a ring that completely fell apart after he purchased it from Mayer Saketkhou's family business "Paris Jewelry."
After reading his mortifying story, I was compelled to share mine. The year of 2007, a roommate and I decided to rent an apartment from Mayer Saketkhou in which we paid a grand total of 4300. The apartment is not nearly worth the amount that we paid but we needed a place quick. To make a long story short, I rented from this man nearly three years. After all was said and done, he allowed my roommate to move in her cousin while my rental agreement was still in term. (I am not on speaking terms with the roommate do to several issues.)
Not only was my last months rent not replaced but he states that he must charge my roommate and I for water. In which it clearly states on the lease that water and garbage are paid by the landlord, who is Mayer Saketkhou. Everyone who lives in San Francisco knows the renters rights and that in this instance the landlord has full responsibility and not the tenant. The total of our security deposit was 1000 in which he wants to keep.
I feel as though someone must speak out against this man and his family before others are swindled out of their money. All of this mans original tenants have left and I feel so sorry for the newer ones that remain. He has several ads on craigslist stating a new apartment is available now for one of his apartment buildings. This building is a complete shamble piece of garbage and so is his business.

First of all someone does not stay in an apartment for THREE years if they think they are being overcharged.
"..After all was said and done, he allowed my roommate to move in her cousin while my rental agreement was still in term. (I am not on speaking terms with the roommate do to several issues.).."
- I think that this comment shows your issue is probably more than just a landlord issue. But if he violated any laws in returning your deposit then you need to take him to small claims court.

This is a follow up for the person who is hurt by this, and the author as well as the accused must move forward. A portion of the security deposit was returned in the amount of 500 dollars. The accused is severely traumatized by this benign post, and has asked for it to be removed. Here is the policy of Rip Off Report:
"Our policy never to remove any report protects consumers. It doesn't do any good for a company to harass the consumer who
posted a report -- we never take the report down.If businesses thought they could get reports removed by putting pressure on consumers, some of them would just put heavy pressure on the consumer through lawsuits or harassment. But, suing or harassing the consumer won't do any good, because it won't change the report.Because we never
remove reports and we do encourage updates, the best thing a business can do is work things out with the consumer, make the consumer happy, and post updates showing how they used good customer service to solve the problem. In this way, the business has a unique opportunity to show it has good customer service while the consumer is protected from threatening behavior." Many businesses come back to us after cursing at us and telling us how mad at us they were, .. they now tell us how the once negative Report now gets them new found business. Most consumers do want to see how a business took care of business. After all, none of us can ever satisfy everyone all of the time. All business will make mistakes ending up with complaints, ..how those businesses handle those complaints is what separates good businesses from bad businesses." EM

The accused had not given the portion of the security deposit back, until after this post was written. This post is true under all terms and conditions. The author is aware of the accused feelings, but cannot make matter's different.
