Do NOT rent from TransGlobe Properties. If you see that ugly blue sign outside of an apartment building - RUN! Transglobe own several different buildings throughout Canada and I'm resonably sure that they are a Pyramid Company with no one actual owner. Our elevators have passed the expirary date for inspection, constantly break down and are a safety hazard, yet Transglobe will not replace them. There have been 20 false fire alarms in the past 2 years and the fire department no longer turns on their sirens to come to our building and yet Transglobe refuses to add security cameras. The superintendent is never around and cannot be contacted and there is no one ever in the office despite the fact that they are supposedly open from 9am-5pm. There are over 3 years of stockpiled repairs that have not been fixed. Our hot water was once turned off for over a week with no explination. One of the "bachelor" apartments is a former storage space converted into a "living space". The back door lock has been broken for over a year and anyone can walk right in without a key. They send illegal eviction notices for late rent payments, often with gross misspelling with occasionally the wrong occupant or apartment number listed. There are cracks in many of the walls due to water damage from leaking pipes and the floors and walls were not redone before moving in. When you call their "customer service" line you are transferred to different message machines and never recieve an answer.
