permanently damaged existing property at my place during the job they were working at. I believe they were not careful. They believe they were. They never apologized. There was no offer of compensation for the damage and full payment was demanded. I would not recommend Fort Collins Landscaping, Inc to anybody.

Damage

AUTHOR: Gary - Fort Collins (United States of America)

Damage consisted of a 3" chip off the concrete front step which occurred when struck by a Dingo mini loader while backing up during gravel removal. My personal apology was in the first sentence of the voicemail that I left you after receiving your email about the damage.  Compensation was given in the form of a professional repair done at my expense backed up by a guarantee for the life of the original concrete (see photos attached).  Full payment is a normal expectation on all work contracts and was not "demanded".  I was surprised to get your request for additional "compensation" in the form of 5 cubic yards of redwood mulch, which coupled with your threats of complaints to BBB, Angies list, etc had the tone of blackmail.  Should you be allowed to hold my reputation for ransome?  Twenty years of satisified customers say "no".

Had I Only Known

AUTHOR: SeeingRed - Larimer County (USA)

I wish the quality of your reputation had been as much a concern to you when this work was being performed on my home.

I discovered the chip in my step the following day after your workers left it for me without ever mentioning it to me.  I had to call you after I discovered the chip and I actually had to bring it to your attention as you were not present on site when the work I was paying you for was getting done.  When you later called me and admitted responsibility for the damage, you didn’t apologize. You stated you’d have it patched – this voice message is still saved on my cell phone.  The guarantee that you mention was for the structure of the patch, not the content of color match with the existing concrete.  Although the patch has held thus far, the fact is the patch material has discolored around the existing concrete and is very visible from the street, detracting from the home’s curb appeal, which I will have to answer for myself to real estate professionals and potential buyers upon future resale – which you obviously care nothing about.

In lieu my festering dissatisfaction, through potential discoloring of the patch which has occurred, and for the compromise to my curb appeal, I requested the 5 yards of mulch for total and complete forgiveness of this matter which you declined. If you saw that request as black mail, it speaks bounds to your philosophy on doing business and satisfying customers.

If I had known early on that this is the way you would have conducted business with me, I would not have ever dealt with you.  I will surely warn everyone I know to avoid you for any of their landscaping needs.
